Beside that the sequel itself isn't very good, it was really unnecessary.

As much as I ADORE the sequel, I don't think it would be a good idea for a sequel to the live-action movie. In the animated version it was left up to interpretation how long Belle had been at the castle, so there was time for the events of the sequel (or midquel) to of happened. However, in the live-action version it's a few days and there is no way it would've been able to fit in with the timeline of the live-action movie.

I think it would be a sweet idea, if the Enchanted Christmas was a better movie. As it is, it's not nearly good enough for a live action movie.
