SO MANY PROBLEMS! However, this is one that, even after all these years, still makes me angry and like I was cheated by a con-artist.

Also Mordu being a lame and dull villain, boring climax battle and some scenes were too dark. Tho overall I liked the movie.

Well unfortunately. Tbh I never really though about most of the choices here but I can see why you have those issues from the movie. The movie itself is average imo.

Haha, wow, that's a long list! I rewatched this movie recently and while I don't like it as much as when it first came out, I think it's a solid, good (but not great) movie. I'd love it if there was more adventure like the trailers suggested. However, it's a mother-daughter story at its core, and I think it was handled quite well. Merida's certainly flawed, but I think she genuinely learned something by the end and changed for the better.

I do agree with the positive things ApplesauceDoctr said, and it does have beautiful animatio.
Honestly, his movie has many, many problems.

"Merida being a selfish, spoiled brat that was willing to basically poison her mom" and "Forcing us to side with Merida by making the suitors so unappealing and pathetic" as well.

And a few others - this is one of my least favourite Disney films

WOW this is a lot but yeah, the vast majority of this film is a lackluster mess but this choice pretty much sums up all the issues with it.

This movie was made and marketed with the pretentious attitude of Pixar trying to "one-up" Disney at their own game, the princess genre, and ironically creating a film with quality that doesn't even hold a candle to previous DP movies or previous Pixar movies.

The only aspect of this film that was made with the heart and diligence you'd expect from Disney/Pixar is the mother/daughter relationship, other than that, this movie is just what happens when you let people who have anti-Disney strawman arguments, like Brenda Chapman or Kiera Knightley, create a Disney movie.

Way too many choices to bother picking any.

^ I never understood why commenting without choosing an option is frowned upon. Sometimes I do that when an option I want isn't listed, but I at least want to share my thoughts on the subject. I suspect that's what asteriamalfoy did, too. Maybe an "other" option would resolve this, though.

The humor was really lackluster as well.

Most of these. I really wanted to like Brave due to my Scottish heritage, but Merida was so selfish and shortsighted and the plot wasn't great. The jokes weren't very good, and the subplot with Mordu was kind of pointless to the plot that could have been focusing more on Merida and Elinor's relationship. I ended up siding with Elinor more than Merida.

@ApplesauceDoctr For me, commenting without even bothering to vote is just annoying and confusingly lazy. They will take the effort to type a comment but they won't take the time to actually vote for an option. Adding an "other option" doesn't work on this poll because of how these are a list of the problems I have with the movie, otherwise, there would be more options. Besides, that's NOT the case with asteriamalfoy, since she said that there were too many options for her to bother to pick, which is the equivalent to the TL;DR (Too long; didn't read), which is also something that I consider to be lazy. She didn't say something like BB2010 did where she said that there were too many options she agreed with that she couldn't choose just one. No, instead asteriamalfoy just said she was too lazy to bother picking one because there was "too many options" but apparently wasn't too lazy to type a comment, which takes more effort than voting does.

I agree with most of these, but I picked this one, because I have a really hard time liking any movie (even an other wise great movie) with an unlikable protagonist.

So much. What's the point of presenting the message that both sides are wrong and compromise is key in relationships and only have one party change? Also that the lords just conveniently stopped caring that their clans were humiliated via the suitors and everyone just casually shrugs off war.

I do like Brave, it's just full of plot holes.
