Anne would have been the perfect Belle since she was the original choice to play Christine in the movie adaptation of The Phantom of the Opera and we know she can sing from Ella Enchanted and Les Misérables. However, I'd love to see Emmy play Belle as well since she was perfect as Christine in TPOTO movie. Natalie also is a stunning beauty and amazing actress and she can sing too, even if she's not as well known for it.

She is most popular in my country. Emma Watson is more popular but only as Hermione

Anne Hathaway

this might sound mean, but none of them. Natalie Portman and Anne Hathaway aren't in the right age range to play Belle. I didn't like Emma Watson as Belle. I'm not familiar with Emmy Rossum. I wish an unknown had played Belle, or at least someone with Broadway experience. Even better, maybe someone from France, ce serait génial :D

^I can definitely see how Natalie and Anne were too old by the time the remake came out. They would have been better choices in the 2000s. Emmy Rossum played Christine in the movie version of The Phantom of the Opera (which apparently was originally supposed to star Anne Hathaway) and that role is very similar to Belle and the story very similar to BATB so many people hoped Emmy would play Belle as well.
