But Cinderella is not her real name, is it? It's only a nickname.
And I believe the prince's name is not Charming.
So yeah, we don't know their names...

Cinderella is, according to my '64 Ladybird storybook, the cruel nickname given to her by her step-sisters (who are just her sisters in that book) because she sleeps in the cinders by the fire in the cellar with only the dying embers to keep her warm. Evidently that's not the case in Disney's adaptation, so it's treated as her actual name. I think it's sort of cute. Charming sounds like something Kate Nash would call somebody when she's being witty.

I thought Cinderella's real name was just Ella but they just added the word "cinder" because she was covered in cinders. I don't really like either name.
