I like how Mulan ended, it was a fresh change of pace.

Pocahontas....I'm still not sure. I liked the ending but I thought it didn't make sense in the pace of the story. The whole time, Pocahontas is told to follow her heart, and her heart is CLEARLY leading her to John Smith, but then she choses to stay at the end because her family "needs her"? It wasn't coherent, for me.

I like the way both movies ended- with Mulan and Shang sort of dating and John and Poca being separated. They weren't your typical Disney Princess movies, and I love that. It was a nice change of pace.

I think it'd be really weird if Mulan and Shang kissed at the end, like he JUST found out she was a girl after believing she was a guy for a really long time.

But I also like the bittersweet ending for Pocahontas and John, she really loved her people and the way she lived. So why would she her family and entire way of life just for one guy? I do know that they loved each other, but I can see why she decided to stay. Besides what the hell is stopping John from going back to her village after he got better?

I don't know what I would've wanted for sure though...I would've liked them together, but I wouldn't want Pocahontas to leave her family because I wouldn't want Pocahontas to be like Ariel in that scene, but the story focused so much on "Listen to Your Heart"... I would've probably said neither, except for the fact that bad sequel was made... :(

The reason I love Mulan so much is because there's no romance. It's not a romantic film. A kiss would have ruined that atmosphere. Especially since all Shang does at the end is ask her on their first date. You don't kiss someone when they ask you out.

Pocahontas' unhappy ending is what made it unique. They should have got together at the end of the sequel, though.

i actually like how Mulan ended. if they had kissed at the end, it would've seemed to me that since there was no romance in most of the movie, they had to cram it down your throat at the end. it helps, though, that we get a decent enough sequel for the romance. :)

I watched Pocahontas for the first time last night & I found the ending to the movie so sad. :(
