Martha was unable to নিশ্চিত who the father was. Rory did go up to the Doctor and ব্যক্ত softly, “Look, if আপনি did it while I was, আপনি know, dead, then it's fine.”
“I am NOT the father.” The Doctor ব্যক্ত firmly. What he didn't mention was the other way Amy could've gotten pregnant. But since he wasn't quite sure, the Doctor confined Amy to the TARDIS.
“Why?” she'd whined. “I managed to run just fine in that dream world.”
“Yes, but আপনি were only running for one day. This is different. Five months, Amy. Something could go wrong.”
She sighed but agreed with the Doctor. And since Rory insisted on staying with her, the Doctor was the only one out of his TARDIS.
Inside, the Doctor watched the couple in his TARDIS as they seemed to fall even আরো deeply in love, despite the lack of knowledge about the father. One day, he began to panic. Amy was having a child. Most likely Rory's child. Did that mean she didn't প্রণয় him anymore? Did that mean she didn't want to fly around in the TARDIS because the baby might get hurt? I'm losing her. He knew he'd প্রণয় the baby, but he still didn't want to lose his best friend, and- possibly- the girl he loved.
“Doctor?” It was Amy. “You're in a whole other universe. What're আপনি thinking about?”
“Nothing. Amy, what is it?”
“Well, Rory and I decided...”

“Oh. Well, I'll have to think about it.” He watched he walk back down to her room, which Rory was fixing up with the help of the TARDIS.
And one day, five months later, he landed on Messaline to visit his daughter's grave- and found her refuelling her ship. Their conversation went a bit like this:
“Who are you?”
“I'm the Doctor.” *still staring in shock*
“No you're not.”
“Why am I not?”
“The Doctor has spikier brown hair. Yours just sort of flops.”
“Two hearts, আপনি wanna feel?”
“But আপনি look different.”
“Yeah! I died and regenerated! It's a Time Lord thing, we cheat death.”
“Dad?”
“Hello, sweetie.”
And she gave him a big hug.
He took her back to the TARDIS to hear Amy's screams. “What the hell is that?” Jenny gasped.
“I think my friend just went into labour.” The Doctor ব্যক্ত softly.
“I'll just wait up here then.” Jenny said.
“Shut the door! We don't want any nasty bog monsters to get in!” The Doctor called. So Jenny closed and locked the door.
Two hours later, Amy held a tiny baby girl in her arms. “She's perfect.” Amy breathed.
The Doctor was about to make a মতামত about what she'd said, but he shook his head instead.
“Well?” Amy asked. “Names, Doctor, have আপনি thought of any names?”
“Um... No. Sorry.”
“Well, I think we should call her Abigail.” Rory said, and jumped as he realised the Doctor, Amy, and Jenny, who'd just arrived, were all staring at him.
“Yeah.” The Doctor said. “Abigail Rose Pond. Like a name out of a fairytale.”
Amy turned dark red.
