FGT is having a haiku contest as a pre-show for the main event happening later in June/July.

RULES
1) It MUST be a HAIKU. Any other type of poem দাখিল হয়েছে will not be considered for the contest, though it will be appreciated!
2) One user may জমা করুন up to three haikus. They may জমা করুন less, if they choose. But three is the maximum.
3) All haikus must be দাখিল হয়েছে দ্বারা JULY 1ST, 2010.
4) Post your haikus in a মতামত in this article. I will gather them all into a সেকেন্ড submissions প্রবন্ধ on JULY 1ST.

I would like two অথবা three people to volunteer to pick their ten পছন্দ haikus and put them into a pick to be voted upon. Haikus will be labeled দ্বারা numbers and letters in the প্রবন্ধ to try and avoid bias. For example, say someone submits two haikus, and someone else submits three haikus:

1. A) First Haiku
B) সেকেন্ড Haiku

2. A) First Haiku
B) সেকেন্ড Haiku
C) Third Haiku

Each number denotes haikus দ্বারা the same poet, so আপনি can write a haiku series if আপনি want. They will be পোষ্ট হয়েছে in the order that the poet posts them here.

For those of আপনি who have forgotten, অথবা who have never learned what a haiku is, here is the basic format. A haiku is a Japanese short poem that is three lines long. The structure is as follows:

Five syllables
Seven syllables
Five Syllables

If your haiku bends অথবা breaks the syllable rule দ্বারা one অথবা two, it will still be considered under the rule of poetic license.
