It was called Emilia Clarke doesn't want to be remembered as Daenerys Targaryen – Metro
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
Emilia Clarke doesn\'t want to be remembered as Daenerys Targaryen
The "Game of Thrones" star talks about taking over an iconic role in "Terminator: Genisys," and how she\'ll be sad when her big show comes to an end.
Emilia Clarke attends the Louis Vuitton \'Series 2\' exhibition in Los Angeles.
Emilia Clarke doesn’t want to be typecast. On many occasions the “Game of Thrones” star, who plays determined Queen of Dragons Daenerys Targaryen, has said she’s reluctant to do nudity — one of the reasons she turned down “Fifty Shades of Grey.” “I have done naked scenes before, and I was worried about being stigmatized by doing it again," she admits. Now she’s in “Terminator: Genisys” playing a much more fierce character: Sarah Connor, the mother of post-apocalyptic revolutionary John Connor (Jason Clarke), who in the film’s own timeline has been fighting alongside nice killer cyborg T-800 (Arnold Schwarzenegger, again) since childhood.
Do you feel you’ve been lucky with the roles you’ve received?
If being lucky means being able to work for many years seeking an opportunity, then yes, I’ve been lucky. Television gave me a boost, but I don’t want people to remember me as Daenerys Targaryen from “Game of Thrones”.
The characters you play tend to be very strong. How alike them are you?
I\'m not ultra feminist, but I feel that I identify with girls who can do everything, and who use their power to defend good causes.  I now get to play with a very different version of a young Sarah Connor, and I like that a female character has become iconic.
I think it was more exciting than scary; Sarah is legendary and beautiful. What we did was impregnate her with a different force and create something new.
I have fun. Although for that you have to be in shape and have good arms: holding weapons, shooting and running involves a lot of wheezing. When you see a big action movie, it seems like everything is easy, but when you start to do it, it’s not. Especially with Sarah, who\'s a tough woman who becomes a warrior and draws strength from all sides.
In "Terminator: Genisys," Emilia Clarke takes over the role of badass Sarah Connor, previously played by Linda Hamilton and Lena Headey.
What do you do not like about being recognized on the streets?
I\'ll confess that I don’t like what fame brings; sometimes I just want to be invisible, so I can walk down a street and enjoy a good time.
I don’t know, I think it’s good enough to work from my trench. My character on “Game of Thrones” is a feminist, but in real life, I’m very different from that character. But there are some aspects that I do admire. I see my character as an icon of feminism. She is strong and fights against everything.
You have said in various interviews that you don’t want to do nude scenes with every project.
Yeah, right… I always say I should do more exercise, but I don’t have a sporty spirit. Something that I do have clear is that I have no objection to taking off my clothes, as long as the story justifies it.
Working alongside a cyborg murderer. But above all seeing myself in the midst of a film that I grew up with, with people whom I have admired, such as Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Does anything worry you or make you laugh about your career?
Flattery makes me very sad, especially when you are notified that you were chosen as the most desirable woman in a magazine — that sort of thing. I worry about “Game of Thrones” ending, because it is a very important part of my life as a woman and actress. But you know what they say: dreams don’t last forever.
Debra Granik on going from \'Winter\'s Bone\' to the doc \'Stray Dog\'
Debra Granik had a big hit; she directed and cowrote “Winter’s Bone,” which propelled both Jennifer Lawrence and John Hawkes to Oscar nominations and stardom. But she wound up chasing that up not with another fiction film but with “Stray Dog,” a documentary about Ron Hall, one of the locals she met in the Ozarks while making the film. A Vietnam vet biker with tattoos, he confounded stereotypical expectations by being warm and welcoming, allowing Granik to film what to him was a normal life,...

Danny Picard: Bruins GM Don Sweeney not off hook just yet for Dougie Hamilton trade
It seems as though many are apologizing to Bruins general manger Don Sweeney in the last few days. Much of that has to do with the realization that Dougie Hamilton did not want to play in Boston. When Hamilton was traded for a trio of draft picks just hours before the NHL Draft, it left a lot of us searching for answers in a somewhat angry tone. Since then, Sweeney has made some nice moves. Most recently, he stole 27-year-old free-agent winger Matt Beleskey from the Anaheim Ducks with a...
Dorchester man shot, killed was Boston\'s only Fourth of July homicide
Amid the explosive pops and bursts of fireworks of the Fourth of July weekend, bullets flew on Holborn Street in Dorchester late Saturday night, fatally striking one man and injuring a second.  Officers responded to a report of a person shot near 12 Holburn Street at about 10:50 p.m.. An unidentified man in his mid-20’s was the city’s only homicide over the holiday weekend. The man was pronounced dead on the scene. According to the Boston Globe, seven people were shot or shot at between...
The NYPD has arrested the boyfriend of a slain Bronx woman in connection with her death. Jasmine Gonzalez, 22, was found stabbed to death with multiple wounds to her torso in Bronx River Park just before 6 a.m. on July 5. She was pronounced dead at the scene.  Police arrested Khiry Borden, Gonzalez’s ex-boyfriend, according to numerous outlets, on Sunday night. The 25-year-old Brooklyn man was arrested on charges of second-degree murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.
NBA free agency overrated, not way to build a title team
Money equals power. Money equals laziness. It’s human nature to relax a tad once you finally get security at your job or land a new, fat contract. And statistics in pro sports almost always back up the idea that an athlete will perform better when he’s hunting for that new deal than he will after he “gets paid.” The NBA free agent Class of 2015 is a star-studded one. LaMarcus Aldridge, Marc Gasol and DeAndre Jordan are about to cash in. The teams that sign these big-name players should beware...
Officials: Help us ID \'Baby Doe\' found in a trash bag on Deer Island
Suffolk County District Attorney Dan Conley said that the remains of the young girl found on Deer Island last week were found in an industrial trash bag with a blanket, but the autopsy does not suggest a cause of death. Authorities have not been able to identify her yet. The images of her were created by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children from photographs of “Baby Doe.” “The image we have here today is an artist’s rendering of what she might have looked at,” Conley said. “As...
Rory McIlroy suffers severe injury playing soccer and fans are mad
Golf rock star Rory McIlroy revealed Monday he had suffered a severe ankle injury while playing golf with his buddies and some fans reacted with words like "stupid." And "idiot." On Instagram, where McIlroy, 26, went public, fans offered a mix of get-well-soon wishes and insults. Here\'s a sampling: coop_daddy_:" You\'re a professional athlete! The sport can\'t afford one of its best getting hurt doing stupid s--t. You never saw Tiger getting hurt playing a game of 2-hand touch."
Jeb Bush slams Donald Trump for incendiary Mexico comments
Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush spoke out against Donald Trump and his comments about Mexican immigrants -- and said he is personally offended. Bush\'s wife Columba was born in Mexico and the former Florida governor, when asked if the scandal over Trump struck a sour note at home, he said, "Of course it does, absolutely." Bush was talking to reporters Saturday in New Hampshire, where he leads with 19% in the latest polls and where Trump comes in second with 12% in the crowded field of...
Dancers with disabilities continue to fight for acceptance
After watching Kitty Lunn and Alice Sheppard rehearse for a few hours — doing flips and lifts on the ground — you don’t expect that after the music stops and the dance shoes come off they leave the studio in their respective wheelchairs.  But they do. Both Lunn and Sheppard are both dancers who are living with disabilities that prohibit them from walking. Lunn, a professional dancer before her accident that led to a spinal cord injury in 1987, is the artistic director of Infinity Dance Theater....
Mayor Nutter drops mic after July 4 performance of Rapper\'s Delight
Mayor Michael Nutter knows how to get down. Nutter joined The Roots onstage for their July 4 concert in Philadelphia to deliver a rendition of Rapper\'s Delight, looking more like a life-long hip hop performer than a politician in video captured by 6ABC. Nutter dropped the mic at the end of his rendition of the classic song by the Sugar Hill Gang. Nutter has performed the piece with The Roots before - at the inauguration of his second term as mayor (see video below).
The \'Ripple Maker\' device will print any image in a latte’s foam
Latte art is getting the 3D-printing treatment: the Ripple Maker can print anything on the foam of your café latte, including your own selfie. The gadget uses 3D printing techniques and natural coffee extract in pods to create custom-made designs in just 10 seconds. The machine connects via WiFi to a website or app where you can select and upload the image you want printed on your cup of joe. Whole Foods\' apology a little difficult to swallow for some on social media
The snarkfest on social media has been in overdrive since the big bosses at Whole Foods came clean about a shocking price sticker scandal and vowed to fix it. "Straight up, we made some mistakes," said co-CEO Walter Robb in a YouTube video with co-CEO John Mackey at his side. "We want to own that." "Any errors were unintentional, and any claim that we are “systematically overcharging” customers is completely inaccurate," the pair said in an additional online posting. Many fans of the pricey...

Geek Girl in Hollywood: How to treat cosplayers with respect
The San Diego Comic-Con is just around the corner. The studios will be there giving previews of upcoming films and TV shows. They’ll be vendors selling geeky goodness. (I rarely get out of there with my wallet intact. I need those giant Doctor Who slippers!) There will also be amazing costumes. Cosplay has become increasingly popular over the years. Cosplayers often spend months and months getting ready (or spend money commissioning someone to do so for them). No matter where they come from,...
Now in its 33rd year, Just for Laughs has built a gigantic international reputation for bringing together the biggest and best names in comedy.  Holding the record for the highest number of tickets ever sold at JFL, Dave Chappelle returns to perform no less than seven shows at Theatre Maisonneuve (July 20–23), while one of comedy’s biggest movie stars is, rather surprisingly, making his first ever appearance at the festival in “An Evening with Mike Myers.” And Kevin Hart is on course to be...
