Of course it would be awesome to read them again as "fresh" books, but afterwards I wouldn't love Harry Potter as much as I do now. It's a difference if you start reading when you are 8 years old and grow up while new books are released or if you read all the books within one year. As tempting as it would be, I would never want to give up my Harry Potter childhood memories. I would never be able to develop the close relationship to the characters that I have now if I start again from zero, now that I'm 19 years old.
I've started reading them to my little sister - we're on Chamber of Secrets and it's SO much fun to see the look on her face every time there's a big shocking moment, haha. I'd love if I could go back and experience all that again!
I wouldn't. Harry Potter came to me at a time when I needed it. All those memories of escaping into a story, of waiting for midnight premiers and releases, of walking around trying to read and watch were I'm going, of sneakily reading during class, having in depth discussions with my friends about "what happens next" are all a huge part of my childhood and me. It wouldn't be the same now as it was then -- my 21 year old self isn't even close to my nine year old self.
No i wouldnt either.
Nowadays its sooo hard to find a decent book series that makes you wanna escape to and where you experience what the characters are experiencing - its pure fantasy that you can escape to, especially just to pick up a harry potter book and forget your problems for a few hours :)
