Since Heartisalone is a pokenoob, I decided to write this for her and here we go:
Pokemon are pocket monsters, hence the name 'pokemon'. The most commonly known pokemon is Pikachu, due to Ash Ketchum, the main protagonist of the pokemon series, getting পিকাচু as his starter pokemon. These are the sarters from each region:

Squirtle, Charmander, Bulbasaur

Treeko, Mudkip, Torchic
JOHTO:
Cyndaquil, Totodile, Chikorita
