Huddy Article: If Cuddy's sheets could talk...

When I saw earlier today that Ausiello answered my প্রশ্ন on today's column I was so incredibly glad, even though he did it with an extra - and unnecessary - load of sarcasm... :D I honestly don't care, though; I'm used to his caustic humor.

The thing is, I'm far from being naïve enough to believe that Ausiello would just drop a bomb like Huddy sex like that, without a blind item অথবা anything... It's almost negligent of his part. However, we have to consider another aspects before completely ruling out the possibility of House being Cuddy's booty call.

আপনি see, nobody believed in it, and that's the first reason why we have to consider it may be true. People assumed it's Rachel right away, so Ausie's আঁচিল is protected, and he'd still get to say "I told আপনি so" if something happens.

Second: it would be a pretty Shorian way of exploring Huddy relationship, don't আপনি think? What I first heard on Episode 14 was that Cuddy would have a BIG SURPRISE that would make her fans' chins drop. আপনি guys can come up with a better surprise than House প্রদর্শিত হচ্ছে up at her place and taking her without asking for permission? Two different men's scents on Lisa Cuddy's sheets? That's MAJOR. That would definitely compensate her for the পূর্ববর্তি five sexless seasons...

And a last good reason: Huddy forbidden and ever so hot sex session would surely be the end of Luddy relationship, not necessarily because the victim of shameless cheating would find that out - although he probably would, since he's a PI, apparently a good one - but because Lisa Cuddy has a very strong trace in her personality: she's obsessed with guilt, as House himself has stated আরো than once. Cuddy could not shut up and take the burden of being unfaithful, with House from all people, and this "surrendering to a two-decade-long built-up desire and sexual tension" episode would not help Huddy whatsoever. It would only make things even আরো complicated. Cuddy back on her misery, House back on his scamming. Good old days, নিরাপদ well-known formula of success and high ratings. Huddy fans, however, would be absolutely thrilled and distracted with the sex thingy, and would end up forgetting about pressuring কূল for a little while, like they did after "Under My Skin".

It's actually a brilliant strategy, just as clever as Shore's mind - and mine, who created this theory while attending a Civil Procedure Class and taking detailed notes.

yunioshi I think your points are valid, but I honestly do think it's Rachel. And this is a major episode for Cuddy because *spoilers* she's contemplating leaving the hospital or something to that effect, that's why it's so major, that's the major decision she's facing which would make Cuddy fans drop their jaws. Also, further spoilers suggest that Lucas will be around for quite a while.

xoHULIxo I agree you do have valid points...I'm just not sure if I should start thinking one thing and then get my hopes too high and then either be dissapoited or not...Been there way too many times with this show...*points to Shore* XD I keep coming back for more though:D

Delia_Beatrice Oh, God. I haven't seen any spoiler indicating Lucas will be around beyond episode 14, but it's also true that first he was supposed to get out in ep 10, then 12, then 14... I wonder if they plan to have him replace Cameron on the permanent cast, since they wanna keep him for 67 episodes and counting... Andressa, i think there could be good reason why Aussiello would let this kind of info slip. Actually, good reason why the "House" publicists would find it useful to let out this spoiler. There is a significant procent of the audience who are pissed at the Luddy arc and at the indefinite postponing of any satisfactory Huddy event. So this spoiler is a good way to keep them interested and hoping. Let's not forget how much the "House" marketers have invested in Huddy. Huddy fans are obviously a big part of the fanbase, and it's important to let them know there are rays of sunshine at the horizon.

durossa bravo! you do make some valid points and i love your ideas, but...not to be johnny raincloud here and kill everybodys lovely optimism, in light of the fact that soooo many unauthorized spoilers have been leaked recently, some of them trivial, some of them MAJOR, how is it that a Huddy hookup managed to remain concealed? if it even exists. & what about promos, working for publicity, etc?..i love your idea (maybe you should write house episodes?) and i would be ecstatic if it came true, but i doubt it will *wipes away tear* a girl can certainly hope though, can't she? would make a wonderful fanfic tho...

Delia_Beatrice well, it's not really concealed, is it? I mean, we are talking three months from now. How much earlier could the promotion of this have started? I really cannot remember - how long before the kiss and "Under My Skin" did they start leaking info about it? More than three months in advance?! And the season 6 Huddy hookup is all everybody talks about since May. Even David Shore, who called them "the new team which will attract all attention". We are all terrified of false hope - because we've been there before, and it hurts badly, but steps forward will be taken, in this form or another. I kinda hope it's this one - sounds soooo cool.

Myrtyleg I agree with yunioshi. I'm sorry but I can't see it being House. Why would it be? Cuddy's in a serious relationship and she's happy so why would House go to her and risk getting dumped on all over again when the one thing he fears more than anything is rejection? Sorry to kill the optimism but Ausiello's spoiler said: "two people" not "two men". It's a definite tease but I'm not falling for it.

I know some of you are way too hopeless and traumatized to even consider the possibility of House being the second person in Cuddy's bed, and I get it, I sooo do. We've been through so much, my fellow Huddy fans, and I'm not even sure I truly believe it. I sure as hell try my best not to. Still, I was wondering: even if it's only lovely baby Rachel cuddling up with mommy, IT'S STILL GREAT NEWS. I mean, why would Cuddy sleep with her baby if Lucas was also there? Nah, not really, not in the beginning of a relationship... I mean, who's this Lucas guy? Edward Cullen? The ultimate symbol of annoyingly self-sacrificing men? In real world, Cuddy would sleep with her daughter if she missed someone in her bed, someone who'd been there for several months and is suddenly - and definitely, so help us GOD! - gone now, which means that the steamy sex and sleeping with Rachel in the same episode have a simple purpose: to show what Cuddy had and what she lost, probably for not being able to leave PPTH - and House. Let's be practical, people! Lucas seemed very at ease with all the dirty little secret thingy but there will always be something that will never change: he's not good enough for Cuddy, and he knows it. You can tell it by the Chase's reaction when Lucas solemnly announced that he was dating the Dean. It's incredibly hard for anyone to believe that Cuddy has even acknowledged his existence in the first place, never mind having a real relationship. That may be a reason to feel proud and good with himself at first, but how much longer until the PI's self-esteem is shattered and jealousy starts eating his loins? Guys, our romatic perception of reality commonly leads us to believe that love is everything that matters, but the cold and cruel truth is that it's not. Sometimes is just a small part of the equation. Just as House and Lydia, Cuddy and Lucas are fated to failure. They belong to totally different worlds. Once the novelty is gone, and so is passion, there will be nothing left but awkwardness. And which perspective is more Housian? Mine or Shakespeare's? "The Notebook", "A Walk to Remember" and "Twilight" are surely not items of the favorite movies' list of David Shore and his peers, right? PS: This theory was built during my Criminal Procedure Class, BTW. Love you guys. :D

Belle0308 I really appreciate the positive thoughts you have. You are bold to even suggest it and I admire that. I guess for me personally, I am NOT at a place where I feel I want to trash TPTB. I just don't think it would accomplish anything PLUS they have done an outstanding job in the past. At the same time, I think that I personally feel it is a wise idea for me to take the spoilers worth a grain of salt. I am not saying that they aren't true, but I just don't want to allow any of them to manipulate my mind. YES, it could be very possible that it could be a Huddy thing, but then why not say that the Huddies would be happy instead of Cuddy fans being happy? I have thought about it over and over and I really don't know what to think about the end of last season. A few brave people came on here and said that they didn't think the Huddy sex was real and many laughed at them. Basically, it could go many different ways. Could be Cuddy, Lucas & Rachel...could be Cuddy and Lucas and then House, could be Cuddy, Lucas and then Foreman, Chase, Taub...(ok, I doubt it but JUST saying). Hard to know and even harder to commit to one idea when it is more than likely something totally different. There is a lot of debate over the good/bad of spoilers. I don't want to get going on that here BUT...a few of the happy surprises this year have not been told in a spolier. Maybe I am just simple and am happy with little. Sorry for the long windedness.

She's got her daughter and she's got a happy relationship. That's why. Picture perfect postcard. There's nothing I'd like more than to be wrong; I've considered the double-think, that it could be House - it would certainly be a huge shock! And a storyline that only the most optimistic of Huddys would've seen coming. But I dare not hope anymore. If I manage my expectations, I'll still be able to enjoy this show on some kind of level. There's nothing I'd like more than for all those that kept the faith to say: told you so!
