It had been a difficult night for House. He was a natural insomniac, but along with the thought of his চুম্বন with Cuddy racing through his mind, it was nearly impossible to fall asleep. As he pulled on his Jimmi Hendrix tee-shirt and put on his black sports jacket, the only thing House could think of was how he was once again so close to being happy. Looking in his bathroom mirror, he could see the lines of age claiming residence in his cheeks. His face ravaged from years of hard liquor, Vicodin abuse, and unclean women. The aching of his thigh reminding him how often he has হারিয়ে গেছে what he has wanted the most. He didn't want Cuddy to wake up this morning and have the same misgivings about happily ever after as he was having now. He knew she could make him happy. She got him the way Wilson got him. But then there was always another layer that only Cuddy could see. A layer he tried to pretend didn't exist.

She fights him on everything but she always believes in him. She wouldn't let him act like,"a monkey in a কলা factory," if she didn't. She told Emma, the photographer, that if her own baby was in trouble he would be the one she would trust to save it. She meant it.

House shook his head. It was strange to think about everything that existed between them. Moments upon moments that he agonized over(secretly of course) to decipher what she would have said. He remembered when she came to his office to thank him for helping her with the injections. She was going to say something else, but she changed her mind. He always liked to think she was going to ask him to be her donor অথবা maybe even আরো than that.

She nearly risked her career with Vogler, Tritter, and the hospital inspector because she believed in him. Not even Stacy believed in him the way Cuddy did. And not even Stacy got under his skin the way Cuddy could. It was always a palpable connection. He wondered how they had gone nearly ten years since their last encounter.
Grinning to himself, House got into his car and started the engine. He remembered that night so vividly. He knew everyone speculated that Cuddy and him had been intimate. He knew the bets were all on. A high consensus ব্যক্ত they had to have been drunk to hop into বিছানা together. Grinning some আরো House turned to plug his আইপড to the radio. The first song to come on was Tell Me আরো and আরো and Then Some দ্বারা Nina Simone. It was kismet because Nina Simone had been playing on the radio that infamous night that they shared a bed.

He had been stuck in a dark hole after Stacy left him. He was in excruciating pain both physically and emotionally. It didn't make sense that when he was feeling that miserable that instead of hanging out at Wilson's for some comfort he ventured to Cuddy's home. Cuddy was his boss, his doctor, but they hadn't been too close since the infarction. He knew he shouldn't have blamed her for the leg but he did. He knew it hurt her. She missed his friendship. When he really thought about it he had missed hers as well.
When he knocked on her door with the hook of his cane he didn't really expect her to even be up. It was nearly two in the moring. But she opened up and just stared at him as if he were an apparation.
"House? Are আপনি alright? It's late."
"I know...can I come in?"
She was hesitant which was understandable. He looked like he was in a bad way.
"For a little bit but then আপনি should go."
He went in to sit on her sofa letting out a heavy sigh he had been holding in. She sat পরবর্তি to him.
There were no words for awhile just silence. She looked at him, and he stared vacantly at her fireplace.
"House?"
"You mind if I turn the radio on for little while?" he asked.
"Fine."
He ventured over to her sound system and turned to the classic jazz channel. Nina's distinct voice permeated throughout the house.
"I like this song," he ব্যক্ত softly.
She walked up behind him and placed a hand on his shoulder. He leaned into it.
"What happened tonight? Did Stacy call you?"
He turned to face her. A glistening wetness surrounded his already red pupils.
"No one called me tonight."

"I know."
She put a hand to his face and stroked his matted beard.
"It will get better eventually. It won't always be this bad, House."
Tears were flowing down her face. A sad smile lingering against her cheeks.
She didn't realize how beautiful she looked to him in that moment. The last rays of moon light from the curtains danced around her. Her tears looked almost like crystals shining over her skin.
He couldn't think of any snarky মতামত অথবা any way to evade what he was really feeling. So, he kissed her, and kissed her, and kissed her. After that they went through the regualr motions of desperate sex. The need to share one body, one বিছানা because the loss is too much.

House shook off the memory. He started his drive toward the hospital. His mind finding some solace in the music. He knew he wanted this দিন to be a good day. He wanted another chance. Maybe he wasn't worthy of it. Maybe he wasn't worthy of her, but she always believed in him. Maybe he could start believing too. Maybe they could finally make প্রণয় to one another and it would be about প্রণয় instead of regret.
