3x21 *SPOILERS* My theory on Caroline's feelings at victory party

I know a lot of আপনি are angry and upset at Caroline for celebrating Klaus's death at the end of 3x21. I wasn't, and this is why.

I have a theory about Caroline's feelings towards the end of the episode. It is my belief that Caroline was upset about Klaus's death. However, she couldn't handle the thought that maybe she did care, so she decided to throw a party in hopes that forcing herself to celebrate would convince herself that she didn't care.

I really think that whole party idea was just Caroline being in denial of her feelings. There's just no way she could be that happy after the moment they shared earlier (I noticed a lot of আপনি ব্যক্ত it didn't make any sense, and it doesn't. Regardless of her feelings for Klaus, she is not the type of person to celebrate the death of someone who helped her earlier).

Think about it: ever since Caroline met Klaus, she's been rejecting him. Why? He's a murderer. He kills and harrasses her friends. She's probably disgusted with herself for feeling anything but hate for him. It's probably very hard on her. She's battling morals/conscience/loyalty to বন্ধু VS. love.

Anyways, back to the party: when they were telling Elena how the victory party was Caroline's idea, she was looking down. The whole time Matt and Tyler were gloating about his death she was looking down. Sure, she was smiling. But she wasn't her usual chipper self. Caroline at parties is like a dog when the mail arrives--she's usually the most excited and talkative person. And what especially got me was the camera pan up Caroline when Matt was saying how he wished he could've helped off Klaus. Why pan up Caroline while Matt is talking to Tyler? Also, the fdact that they specially stated Caroline as the one who convinced them to celebrate. Why even bother? I think Julia wanted us to know it was Caroline's idea, because of Klaroline. She wanted all of us Klaroline অনুরাগী to get riled up, but she also was trying to hint at everything I stated before. There were very subtle hints that showed maybe Caroline was faking the party mood. Just enough to make আপনি think: is she really happy?

আপনি can say I'm পাঠ করা too much into it, and I may be. But I don't think so. I think Julia Plec was giving us tiny clues to the inner workings of Caroline.

Well, what do আপনি guys think? (: Think she was just pleased to be rid of Klaus?

Epicurean Thanks. :D Another thing keeping me going is it looks like Rebeka will be stealing Klaus back from Damon and Stefan next episode. ^^ So I don't think he's gone just yet. Caroline had always been in denial of any feelings she may have for Klaus (good or bad). I don't know why she would stop now, [i]especially[/i] since Tyler is back. Now more than ever she's trying to prove to Tyler she hated Klaus, since he was so angry and jealous about Klaus's interests in her.

Ritaprodz I think you might be right, your theory makes sense. But what about Tyler&Caroline? I mean for as much as I love Klaroline, I don't think we ca talk about love in here yet. None of them loved each other. Klaus really cared for her, she amazed and fascinated him with her personality and beauty, and her rejections were always seen as challenges to him, so he grew to have feelings for Caroline and that's why he always wanted to be around her and that's why he saved her. And I do agree that Caroline must have been attracted to him and liked the idea of having the oldest vampire in history, who has seen and been with all types of women all over the world and over time, interested in her. And she thanked him for saving her, she was touched by that gesture of his, since just like you said he is a murderer. But regardless all of them, we have to admit that she loves Tyler (unfortunantly -.-') and well, maybe i need to rewatch the party scene again to notice all the details you talked about, but when i saw that scene she seemed pretty happy to me, like seriously happy that he was dead because in this way Tyler would be free of him, she would be free of him, and they would both be able to be finally together. This is all simply to say that I think that Caroline didn't really care for Klaus death that much, and maybe those slight look downs were coincidences. Specially since Candice Accola is a biiig "Forwood" fan, and in all the interviews talked about how Klaus should die. Of course they are actors and have to do what is written for them, but still.. i mean she was tooo happy! Maybe this was Julie Plec's way of ending the relationship and the fans hopes, so that they can move forward But then again, I'm probably the most negative person in the world and you might still be right! (i hope) so this is just my opinion. that's why i thought it was very ooc, at least she should have shown some respect for him, he deserved it in regards to her.

Epicurean @Ritaprodz Of course, I agree with you. Caroline is very much in love with Tyler, and Klaus probably only greatly fancied Caroline. I'm not saying Caroline was sad Klaus died because she loved him. I'm saying she felt bad he died, because she had seen some good in him [i]and[/i] he saved her life (kinda xD). Of course, Klaus is evil. He is [i]the[/i] enemy. Probably any positive feeling she could have towards him worried her. Even her just thinking "Maybe he's not so bad" probably scared her. Especially since, like I said in an earlier comment, Tyler was already jealous that Klaus had an interest in her. She was trying to prove to him she felt nothing for him and was happy he was dead, even if in reality she may have been disappointed over even a [i]little[/i] saddened.

sahour95 Well, I don't know. Maybe it [i]is[/i] Julie trying to end all our hopes when it comes to Klaroline, because she seemed happy to me, too. But I gotta say I was os out of focus in this scene I couldn't have possibly seen any hidden hints. If, however, that is the case I think they need more that just these teeny tiny bits to deliver a message. If Caroline is feeling bad about Klaus's death, they should show it more obviously in the finale. [i]If[/i] that is the case. But I gotta tell you it kinda struck me as strange that she is the one who suggested the party and that she was so OOC, and the thought crossed my mind a little bit.

Ritaprodz @sahour Exactly! That's what I feel like as well. Usually in a TV show, when they want to pass some kind of message, they can do it indirectly, but usually it's a bit more obvious. Those little hints can be coincidence, Candice's acting during the scene. @Epicurean I know, of course I agree with you :) The only thing that scares me is that I have this feeling that it's over for them. That Klaus won't come back, or at least not so soon, or it'll be a cliffhanger for the end of this season or something, and that this was the end for klaroline... :'$ Because there are a lot of people who hate Klaus or are sick of him and wanted him gone, and so that they can move forward, the writers might have done this to end the klaus storyline. but idk.. I hope I'm wrong and that like you said, these little details, and what Klaus said at the decade dance are hints for future developments in klaroline's "relationship", but i'm very negative, so, i'm afraid it won't happen :x And i'm desperate because of it, it's breaking my heart

Epicurean Joseph Morgan did say in an interview Klaus might not return for season 4. But I think he's just trolling us (or if he really believes so, Julie Plec is trolling him). I don't think it's the end for Klaroline, even if they make it seem like it is. Klaroline is too [i]perfect[/i] for the writers. You know how they love a good love triangle. They wouldn't just drop it without exploring it a little bit. Also, they've said before (Candice Accola, Joseph Morgan, and Plec) that any romance that could develop for them won't be explored until season 4, or maybe even 5. It's too early to expect an end or beginning right now.

Epicurean Also, kind of random to the topic, but Tyler/Caroline/Klaus reminds me of Stefan/Elena/Damon. Before the latter male was ever introduced, the lady (Elena&Caroline) had already fallen in love with first (Stefan&Tyler). Then when he is introduced (Damon&Klaus) it is an an antagonist, an enemy and murderer who appears to have no redeeming qualities. The female despises him at first, but he grows an interest in her and pursues despite the fact she is hopelessly in love with someone else. Then slowly, the good begins to reveal itself in him. I think you can see where this is going. ;D Despite all the odds against them, Damon and Elena are a [i]real[/i] possibilty right now. So based off this... I'd say Klaroline is good for business in 3 seasons. :D -sobstodeath-

sahour95 What makes me hopeful about your theory the most is the scene they shared just before in the school. I mean if that scene was not there, then I wouldn't have doubted for a second that Caroline was happy for his death. So I am hoping for the best here. The finale will totally give us a better prespective on Caroline's feelings, and the fact whether Klaus will return or not. And well if he is to return we ought to hear JoMo confirmed. And I agree, in a weird funny way Klaroline and Forwood resemble Stelena, Delena. Even though I am hating the drama of this triangle it is so unnerving.

Epicurean I agree, if that "Thank you" scene never happened I would think Caroline was actually gleeful Klaus died. Definately. That scene, as short as it was, was pretty significant.

Epicurean I can't hate them for it, since I understand why they did it. It's like Batman partying after defeating The Joker. I still love Klaus though. <3
