The long-running NBC প্রদর্শনী "Law & Order" may soon have a counterpart across the Atlantic.
Series creator Dick নেকড়ে and NBC Universal, which produces the series, are in discussions with a British company to produce a U.K. version of the show. Adaptations of "L&O" spinoffs already air overseas, but a deal for an international version of the mothership would be a first.
Kudos Films, the production company behind "Life on Mars" and "Hustle," would produce the British show, tentatively titled "Law & Order: London," the showbiz trade papers report. Broadcaster ITV is in line to air the series, offering up a longer-than-usual 13-episode commitment to start.
Localized versions of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" are on the air in Russia and France (Russian TV also has its own "SVU"). As is the case with those shows, the British series would take existing scripts from the NBC series and adapt them to the differences in the criminal justice system. The signature "chunk-chunk" sound would stay, though.
