Honestly, it felt wrong that she completely disconnected herself from someone she had cared so much about, no matter the circumstances. It felt wrong for that to happen, when he had been so deeply invested in her life. It was even worse especially when she had made no choice in the matter between Peeta and Gale, it was basically made for her. And yes, she should have had contact with him.

2., Katniss and Gale are both like, POWOW LET`S START A REBELLION!!, so Peeta balances Katniss by being the calm, controlled, and AWESOME AND HOT ONE.

I really did NOT want her to end up with Peeta. I hated Peeta in both first 2 books, cos' he seemed too calm and boring...but I'll admit, he was toughened up in the 3rd book - majorly!
Still, it annoyed me that Gale just left her...but, I don't agree with it! They were made for each other - Katniss and GALE were meant to be! The Hanging Tree song reminded me of them completely.
But, in District 2, even if he DOES have lovers, I don't think he will ever forget Katniss. She is his one and only love.

I agree with huggy-bear007...I really wanted Katniss to end up with Gale, and the ending ruined the entire book for me...not just the whole peeta thing, but prim being killed and katniss turning into a wuss afterwards...really dumb ending

if she likes him, let her pick him. i am a huge peeta fan, and i think they belong together.

Gale left katniss and lets face it he didn't want her until peeta wanted her he had 5 years to woo katniss, but he settled for the bff card. Its not peetas fault that he loved katniss and did everything in his power to protect her. Katniss was just so naive to his lve and even her love for him because everyone knew she loved him to except her! I love her and peeta but she def doesn't deserve him or gale and gale doesn't deserve kat they wasted time and someone else came in

1.) I LOVE PEETA!!!
2.) If he cared about her that much, he would've stayed!
3.) Katniss said it herself; she doesn't need Gale's fire to survive.
4.) HE KILLED PRIM!!!!! >:(

by the way prim123 he didnt kill prim and gale is abut head who would pick him peeta is the hottest guy on the planet

Gale went to live in District 2 and left Katniss behind. Also, I don't think Katniss ever forgot that he designed the bomb that killed Prim.

Gale killed prim, but he didnt mesn to. He didnt know he was sbout to ruin Katniss. But he did leave her to twelve when he went to two (BEST DISTRICT EVER YOU CANT BLAME HIM sorry I just loved Clove!!!) but I was kind of starting to like him, when he was in the war with Katniss.

Katniss explained this at the end of Mockinjay. Read it again, please.

Gale left on his own accord...and he knew that Katniss would never forget the bomb he also realized that he wouldn't be able to compete for her feelings because he knew she couldn't let go of Peeta.
