During Pain's invasion of Konoha he confronts several ninja inquiring about the location of the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox, eventually leading his খুঁজুন to Iruka. Iruka refuses to reveal anything and is about to be killed. কাকাসি intervenes, telling Iruka to leave with the injured ninja. কাকাসি then confronts Pain's Deva Path, but despite his methodical tactics, Pain proves too powerful for him to land a single blow due to his body's special abilities. He quickly summarizes the bodies and their strengths and weaknesses. কাকাসি is later joined দ্বারা Choji and Choza Akimichi. After a long battle, Choza is defeated and কাকাসি is left with barely any chakra. কাকাসি orders Choji to go and tell Tsunade about Pain's powers, and activates his Mangekyo Sharingan to save Choji from a fatal blow, knowing fully well that using it in his current state would very likely lead to his death. As he feels himself losing consciousness, he begins thinking about his dearest বন্ধু Obito and Rin. কাকাসি then finds himself in an area surrounded দ্বারা darkness approaching a campfire with his father waiting for him, and asked him about himself. Meanwhile, কাকাসি and the Asura Path are both rendered incapacitated. Later, when Choji arrived at Tsunade's location, she ordered Choji to get কাকাসি and his father to a hospital, making no মতামত when Choji asked if কাকাসি was okay, hinting that he is in a critical state if not already dead.
