I think a few villains deserve a happy ending since anyone whether good or bad deserves to find true happiness, unless the villain plans to take over the world or has true darkness in their hearts.

I'm a firm believer that everyone deserves a happy ending, as sappy as that sounds. True happiness will cause people to change their ways for the better.

I would've picked "it depends on the situation" but for me it depends on the actual character and what they do, not the situation. I do consider the situation most times too though.
