How does the dueling work? (for those who tried it before it went to maintenance)

Another প্রশ্ন I have cause I was never able to try the duels before. How do they work? Do আপনি and the one আপনি challenge both have to be online the same time? Is it like fighting each other অথবা just making a spell আরো accurate and powerful than the other person? I'm curious :P

After, it's pretty simple, আপনি choose if আপনি want to duel against someone অথবা a house team, then আপনি choose the spell আপনি want, I উপদেশ Petrificus Totalus and আপনি have to follow correctly the spell and try to do it with potence. I প্রণয় duels, I'm terrible at Potions and duels helped me to win lots of the points I must've won at potions.
