Bellatrix makes me ill.

When I read the books, I did not like her at all. At All.

Then only reason that she is bearable for me is because of Helena B Carter playing her. That is the only thing that makes her interesting, IMO.

She's a very interesting character, but she's interesting in the same way I find serial killers, the scene of a car accident, a big natural disaster, etc interesting. Do I like any of the above? No, but I always want to read and find out more about it. I'm kind of morbidly fascinated by Bella.

@karen: Exactly, I feel the same way. There's a line she has that makes me giggle like mad, but unfortunately it preceeds Dobby's murder. HBC is an extraordinary actress.

There's something about her that makes me like her inspite of her beliefs, the attocities she's committed, her state of mind and not to mention the hand she had in Snape's eventual demise. I find myself downplaying her faults or even disregarding them altogether at certain times and then at others I find her totally contemptable. Mostly though, I like her. I don't know why, but I suspect that it's because there is something terribly wrong with me... :-P

I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who likes her.But I'm a Snape fan more than a Bellatrix fan...but she's kinda growing on me.LOL

In some ways, I think HBC is like AR. I liked Snape and was interested in his character to begin with. Then AR brought him to life and a fascination was born.

Bellatrix was an interesting character, but till HBC made the role her own, it didn't make her that unique. Kinda like Bellatrix was a normal psycho but put HBC into the role, and she became like the pretty poison, the deadly snake.....just, the fascinating side of death.
