Emma didn’t need to look up as she was running. She had been here thousands of times before, so she knew where everything was. She knew that it was in the middle of London, near the tower of London, and big Ben. She knew that the houses were built with reddish brick, and that there were no windows on the first floor. She knew that in about 10 meters there were a road sign, and that the sign were all drawn over দ্বারা some jerk in her school. If someone was coming towards her, she could know without looking up because of the loud, black paving stone on the ground that had always annoyed her.
She had to make it there in time; she couldn’t let her mother marry that man, a liar and a criminal. It could be any moment now, and she was still two blocks from the church. She knew the ceremony had started, even though she wasn’t there. She had told them to do it without her. She didn’t want to be there when her mother Jenny re-married. But no matter how much she hated Jenny right now; she couldn’t let her mother marry a murderer.
EARLIER THAT DAY:
Emma had been surfing the internet; trying not to think of the wedding, when she stumbled over an American news page. And on the first page, on the top, in a little add, she say her mum’s groom. She could recognize his hairy eyebrows, his dirty-blond hair and his marked cheekbones. Over the picture she could see five words, five words that made her gasp, five words that she had seen before, but hadn’t really thought about:

Emma was shocked. She’d finally manage to close her mouth and gather her thoughts. The name was wrong, of course. Not very many people knew about the money though. Emma and her mother had never used very much of the money, just to pay for big stuff, like a better car, and a new refrigerator. But the money was never a secret, so it would be easy for anyone to find out that they had them, if they just tried.
She could see the church now, and she started thinking about how disappointed her mother would be when Emma told her. She thought Jenny really loved this Ethan (Ed to her). They were supposed to go to Prague on their honeymoon to see the famous Stonebridge; Judiht Bridge from 1172. Jenny had a huge passion for old stonebridges.
The church was all white outside, and it was built in an orthodox style. Emma knew that it was fantastic and majestic inside. And probably full of white lilies, because her mother loved them, and Emma knew she was decorating with them today. She hated that she had to ruin her mother’s day, but she had already had her wedding-day with Emma’s father; 18 years ago.
When Emma entered the room, all sweaty and short breathed; she just had to take a moment; looking around at everything and everyone. The room was all covered in lilies, just as she thought it would be. All of the men wore some kind of স্যুইটস্ অথবা tuxedos, while all the women wore skirts অথবা dresses. Everyone was smiling, and someone was even crying a little. Her mother and Ethan stood furthers away পরবর্তি to the priest. Jenny looked amazing in her new Vera Wang dress. Ethan wore a new suit. Then everyone turned towards her because they heard the door close behind her. Emma had just been there for a few seconds, but it had felt like hours. She had to say something. Jenny went to talk to Ethan. They went to stand as far away from people as possible, but not so no one could see them. Emma has told her not to go somewhere alone with him.
