i was readin shadowland and i dont get what she did the ritual for and whatthe results were supposed to be and what happened because she did the ritual on a dark moon?

Ever did the ritual to get Roman to hand over the antidote that would free her and Damen. But she wasn't supposed to do it on a dark moon as that would be like asking help from the dark side instead of the good side, which binded her to Roman instead of Damen.
