And then there's the pen scene. He's looking for something he misplaced/needs, and Ziva was around to help him out the last time. McGee doesn't, because he doesn't even notice it. Ziva, it turns out, is watching Tony much more closely than he (and we) might have thought. Or, she's just better at sharing his brain.

The metaphorical one - I'm not sure yet if that was intentional, but given all the other subtext in this episode, I wouldn't put it past them. Such simple words: McGee - "I need my inhaler." Tony - "I want Ziva back."

They're both listing the one thing they need to function properly. *squees*

And if that doesn't get you on cloud 9, think about what Tony said literally - "I want Ziva back."

Seriously, guys. "I want Ziva back."

No ambiguities, no pussyfooting around the issue, no needling from others, and still he admits that he wants Ziva.
