They actually had new characters to start new relationships instead of whoring the main circle of friends around to each other.
I'm talking to you OTH, Gossip Girl, and even a little bit friends.
I'm not saying that good couples never come out of the main group of friends (Monica and Chandler), but honestly Brooke/Peyton/Lucas, Rachel has been with Ross and Joey, Serena/Nate/Blair/Chuck haha
And yet Willow liked Xander for a few seasons, Xander liked Buffy for a few seasons and that's it. None of them have even had sex with each other.
I still love these other shows, I just had to make a point.
