definitely!i don't think it fits BL all that much,because clearly at the end of the day they did not look at each other as 'the one that got away'.they both moved on with their lifes.i'm not fan of either leyton or brulian,but it's the truth.

however this song is perfect for Serena's POV as she's obviously not over Dan.Every single lyric fits her!Come on, I'm no longer your muse....The whole Dan's book being more about Blair than her situation?the song has DS written all over it!

EXACTLY. I'm sorry, but I don't think this song/lyric fits BL at all. I know that BL fans think of BL when they hear this, because to them, Lucas is the one that got away from Brooke (or vice versa). But it doesn't make sense when you apply it to the characters' POV. Neither Brooke or Lucas think of each other as "the one that got away". They both acknowledged a long time ago that splitting up was the right thing to do. And they are now both happily married to other people, and never look back at their relationship with regret or sorrow (actually, never really look back at their relationship at all, for that matter).

the only part of this song that fits brucas is the one little line about getting matching tattoos, thats it. the whole "the one that got away" message doesnt apply to them at all. it actually fits leyton more (seasons 4&5), even though they ended up together.

I think some parts fit Brucas, but mostly Derena.
