CHAPTER SIX- Getting Ready
I slept for about two hours to recover from the sun, then spent the rest of my night rehearsing my ‘human’ habits. As ভ্যাম্পায়ার are, we don’t fidget, অথবা move, except for when we’re around humans. We do stuff like, excuse ourselves to go to the bathroom, cough, blink (I know, we are really life-less), bite our nails (gross, but human) অথবা not stare at one place for too long. After a while, I got bored of biting my nails so I picked out clothes for school. At first I picked out cargo shorts and a baggy t-shirt, but I thought that would probably look a bit… clumsy, so I changed into tight jeans, a black tank top, and a white cardigan. I moved onto my face. As I looked into the mirror, I saw myself আরো clearly than I normally have the time for. My wavy, brown hair fell to the middle of my slender back. My bright blues eyes were staring straight back at me. I brushed my hand past my red tainted lips as they curved into a grin. I brushed through my knotty hair. The ends were all dead so I grabbed a pair of scissors from my new school pencil case and cut the dead ends off. I cut off about 4-5 inches. Hey, don’t look so shocked! It grew back almost immediately. I suppose it’s good that my hair was long when I was turned.
At 8am, I was about to ask Emmett and Jasper if they were ready for school. Emmett, being Emmett, already knew what I was about to say, so I heard him yell “Yeah, yeah, give me a মিনিট to make myself look pretty”, he chuckled.
“Emmett, stop looking so gorgeous! আপনি make me look ugly!”, exclaimed Jasper. Jasper was wearing a grey, long-sleeved t-shirt with black denim jeans. His wavy blonde hair had been brushed so it covered his hazel eyes.
“Jasper, আপনি look really awesome. I had no idea আপনি had such normal clothes”, I exclaimed.
“Aww, I’m touched. আপনি look pretty, as well”, he ব্যক্ত as he ruffled my hair.
“Now Jassie, don’t go all girly on us”, ব্যক্ত Emmett, making his first appearance of the morning. He was wearing a navy blue t-shirt with ripped, denim jeans. His ebony black hair was as it usually is, as it’s so short, আপনি can’t ruffle it অথবা run your fingers through it.
“It’s okay, brother. আপনি look pretty cool”, I commented.
“You look pretty beautiful yourself”, he replied. I looked down, sheepishly and luckily, Carlisle walked in.
“Oh, look at all my gorgeous kids, ready for school. Now remember, ask the big kids if your lost”, he joked.
“Daddy, your embarrassing me”, ব্যক্ত Emmett, in the most sarcastic tone of the century!
“Would আপনি like me to drop আপনি guys off?”, offered Carlisle.
“No thanks, dad, we’ll just take the truck”, I replied. Which worked, because I loved standing in the trailer part of the truck, and the feeling of the wind through my hair.
