BigGreenTractor I personally love VA, but Twilight's okay, I guess. I used to despise it with a passion. Twilight was quite predictable, one reason I used to hate it passionatly. But I soooo did not expect our poor Dimitri to be turned. I actually started crying. Because it was like on minute, Rose and Dimitri and absolutely fine then poof! Evil blonde Strigoi changes Dimka. So sad. *sighs* I already knew what would happen in Twilight. So predictable. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that Bella lives, gets pregnant, Edward saves her sorry butt, she's a vampire, and they all live happily ever after. I mean, really?! And really, I respected Rosalie for her open hatred of Bella in the first books, but then in BD she's all like 'take another step, Edward, and it's off with your head'. I was like 'WTF??' It really pissed me off. So much that I threw the book at the wall. That might just be because I have a short temper, but it still made me mad. Thanks to all who actually read my little rant. terriritdill Vampire Academy is the BEST!!! After Twilight I needed a new Vampire story and I stumbled onto VA and God I'm hooked. There really is no comparsion of the two. Richelle Mead should have had the movie deal. Thank You Richelle for your wonderful gift of storytelling. I LOVE DIMITRI.

gothixgurl The Vampire Academy novels are sooo awesome. Way better than the entire Twilight saga, though it's still cool. VA has so much more action and drama. The story is shorter than Twilight but its more detailed and packed with adventure.

Babygirl92 I'll agree with your sign you have up there, ForbiddenLurve. Lol. VA is way better. Twilight Edward is freaking perfect. Perfect manners, perfect body, perfect voice and so on. He, like, wouldn't even show any emotion when he seen Bella make out with Jacob in the 3rd one. Dimitri now. He does show his emotions, his anger along with his love. I mean, just seeing Rose with Adrain ticks him off. And he has flaws. It's easier to imagion him. Rose, she's someone I can actually relate to. The party girl turned mature and kick ass. [[No I can't relate to the kick ass part, lol.]] But Bella. Jeez. Where shoyuld I start? She a freaking nut case. In half the books she's falling all over Jacob and Edward both. She hates pretty much everything. And, from my POV, seems more content on immortally than being with Edward. She seems like she just wants to live forever, most the time. Yet Rose willingly and knowingly risks her life to free Dimitris' soul. I just think that Va is easier to imagion than Twilight cause of all the flaws in everyone, not just Rose and Dimitri but Lissa and Christian along with Adrian. It's hard for me to imagion everyone perfect simply because there is no such thing. How am I suppose to imagion something that's not real? Other than those reasons. VA rocks harder simply because the action, drama, and love between all the characters. How Dimitri cares so much for Lissa and how Christian and Rose have the love-hate thing going on. [[No not in love love but, friendship wise. Lol.]] Sorry I know it's long. I tend to do that. =]

TeddyBear Twilight had three really good books.... then, there was Breaking Dawn... Which kind of made me stray away from the series.. it was ridiculous and ruined most of the nice feelings i had for it!! While, coincidentally, i just read Blood Promise, which i also the 4th book - of a six book series - and it only seems to be getting better and better, and Richelle actually has a plan. while Stephenie just kind of winged it. ... which is never good.

iliceaurora Shadow-kiss is just the beginning of the toughest test between D&R, and Blood Promise continused and drived me crasy when reading Rose killed Dimitri by staking for twice, and Spirit Bound made me nealy cry on the class...how could they love ehach other so much while hurt themselves so deeply...All in all, D&R r meant to be toghther, no seperated ever after!!!!!!!!!!!!

iliceaurora Twilight seemed going down sinch eclisp but had some shining-points when breaking dawn, however, much shallower than VA, of course. My heart aches for D&R's keeping away feom eachother, but never weeped for E&B's love...Bella&the whole boy's love instead. Ironic, I think. Well, TL is the fairytale, but VA is the adventure indeed. So it's my opinion~~~

Karli-Belikova Twilight by: Stephanie Meyers VS Vampire Academy by: Richelle Mead To the people who think Twilight and VA are practically the same, you are SO wrong.  When Vampire Academy first came out as a book people thought it was just going to be another "vampire book" like Twilight. Well, they were wrong. Unlike Stephanie Meyers, Richelle Mead actually researched her vampires. The Moroi, Strigoi, and Dhampirs, are old legends, that are from a long time ago. She made it real. Stephanie just made up her own world of vampires. In the Twilight series there was only one type of vampire that could be good, bad, or both. In Vampire Academy there was three. In Twilight it was only the 'bad' vampires that came after them. In VA there was many 'bad' people coming after them. There were strigoi, moroi, and surprisingly dhampirs.  Even though Stephanie got creative and made up her own vampires, Richelle Mead researched BEFORE writing the first book. Stephanie Meyers books were great, but compared to Vampire Academy and Richelle Mead, they were nothing. I mean seriously vampires that sparkle? Was she insane? Richelle Mead put a lot of thought into her books and Stephanie wrote off of a dream she had. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed reading the Twilight series, but I knew what was going to happen before it actually happened. In VA there were so many twists I didn't know what was going to happen, I mean the supposed 'good guys' were actually 'bad guys'. The love lives in both of them were great, but in Twilight there wasn't really anything holding Bella and Edward back from each other. In Vampire Academy Rose and Dimitri couldn't be together, because of the age difference and because he was her mentor!!!! I think everyone who read both of them enjoyed the love life between Rose and Dimitri than Bella and Edward. Then in Shadow Kiss when Dimitri was turned strigoi against his will, I pretty much died right there. I felt like I was Rose at that point. Before that Mason died and that also made me feel like I was dead, but it was nothing compared to when they didn't find Dimitri's body in the cave. She was broken. She was hurt. She asked Mason If he was dead and he shook his head she then asked if he was alive and he also shook his head. She then asked if he was a strigoi and he nodded. I felt my heart break. In vampire academy there was more than just reading it. You feel like your in the book as a character. Twilight wasn't all that good when it came to Bella and Edward. You really didn't feel the connection until Bella was turned into a 'cold one'. In VA it was always there, but Rose and Dimitri couldn't give into their feelings. The twilight movies were better than the Vampire Academy movie. The Vampire Academy movie made the strigoi look like vampires on Halloween. In the book it's hard to tell the difference between strigoi than moroi, unless you see the dark red circle in their eyes. In twilight all of the vampires looked like dolls with way too much make up on. In the vampire academy it even said and no we don't sparkle, either. I liked Vampire Academy better than Twilight and nobody can change that. Whatever they say bad about VA I have something to tell them: don't judge a book by its cover. Don't go by how stupid the movie looked. Richelle Mead didn't make the movie. Read the book before watching the movie, because if not it will ruin it for you!!! It's totally different compared to the book and I can pick out all the differences. VA FOR LIFE!!!!!!!!!
