Chapter 2

I leaned back against the pillows. I felt like I was going to die. It was if a bomb had exploded in my head. I tried to labour my breathing, breathing in through my nose and exhaling out my mouth.
I glanced at the Tylenol pills পরবর্তি to me. I grimaced and picked them up. I threw them in my mouth and swallowed. After a while the pain started to lessen. I sighed in relief and relaxed into the pillow. I let out an involuntary yawn, and gazed at the wall. I could feel the toll of the accident creeping in on me, and I felt tired. I battled against my eyes but I eventually হারিয়ে গেছে and allowed my eyelids to close.

I opened my eyes and saw a wooden ceiling hanging over me. It was rotting and looked as though it was about to collapse at any moment. I quickly got up and took in my surroundings. I was in a small dusty room. It স্মেল্ট as though it hadn’t been used in years. It had simple furniture and a small window. I felt uneasy in such an unstable room so I quickly darted outside.

I looked up and saw a dark sky overhead. I could see a small settlement in front of me a little into the distance. I cautiously got up. Was I dreaming অথবা was I just waking up in some যেভাবে খুশী place. I could feel my legs aching from lying in the hospital বিছানা all the time. I wasn't wearing the stupid hospital dress they used for patients thank god for that. I stretched my legs trying to think where I was at the same time.

I suddenly looked down and saw that I had weird clothes on. I had a loose cotton শার্ট on and স্কার্ট on that billowed around my legs when the wind blew. I frowned at the skirt, it was not going to be the best thing to wear if I was going to explore where I was. At least it was comfortable.

I was thinking that I was dreaming when I heard galloping off in the distance. I lifted my head up, and saw a group of men riding towards me fast. I waved to them trying to get my attention. Strange, I thought, this is the first dream where I can control my movements. The men were riding towards me when I noticed they had strange clothes, it wasn’t like a different countries it was like they were from a different age. The same clothes as me.

They rode towards me and I could see their hands clasping the hilt of what looked like a sword. They stopped before me and looked down at me.
“What are আপনি doing here girl,” he ব্যক্ত with disgust. I noticed that when he ব্যক্ত girl his lip had curled over his teeth and he sneered the name. Who was he to judge me দ্বারা gender? I felt my anger rise inside me. I tried to read his mind trying to see if he was a wife beater অথবা something of the sort, but I couldn’t hear anything. I tried the other men but something blocked me there too.
“I have a right to be here, আপনি have no need to ask me, so for what reason should I tell you,” I snapped. His eyes tightened and I saw the rest of them snarl at me. I rolled my eyes at their obvious distaste for women.

“Do আপনি want to go to the high master?” he asked fiercely.
“Who’s that?” I asked rudely, “Oh right he man আপনি probably follow because আপনি have no self respect,” I ব্যক্ত fiercely. They looked ready to kill me and two of the men jumped off the ঘোড়া বিষয়ক and grabbed my arms. “Get your filthy hands off me,” I spat. I struggled kicked and screamed until eventually they hit me. It stang but I wasn’t about to প্রদর্শনী my pain. The tied my arms, and bound me so I just glared at them.
They pulled me onto a horse where I struggled in the man’s arms.

We rode into the town and I kicked and struggled the whole time. People had gathered in the streets but there was something not right. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. Their clothes were different they looked like they came from a different age. Deep down I could feel my body trying to break down with fear, but I put all my will force not to. My mind worked in a strange way; I thought it weak to cry if something upset you.
I was not going to প্রদর্শনী my fear to these strangers.

I took a deep breath through my nose and released my fear. I looked up with hard eyes and saw that everyone was watching me. I could see the fear in their eyes as they looked at these men. I struggled all the harder trying to break the bonds. One man looked down at me and hit me across the cheek to silence me.

I heard it before I felt, a sharp thud, then came a stinging in my cheek which throbbed painfully. I could feel the tears beginning to rise in my eyes and I bit them back so they stayed at the brim of my eyes, but a few escaped and trickled over my cheek. I could feel the tears brimming at my eyes from the pain. I was silent and still then and could feel his happiness about that and the power that radiated from his look. The houses looked different like little wooden cottages. The people stood in front of them wearing rough brown and cream coloured clothes. The women wore long dresses and the men wore rough loose shirts with light woollen pants.

The women and men stood back as the men approached but I could see the women cringed a bit away from them. So these men were women haters.

Suddenly I was pushed down onto the ground. I couldn’t do anything to stop the fall so I fell hard against my side. I bit my lip and sucked in a quick breath as the ground and my rib collided loudly, a sob escaped me, and I tried to make it sound like a cough
I was picked up off my feet and dragged towards a deck of a fairly large house. They slammed up against one of the poles and stood around me.
“What were আপনি doing out in the woods. Trying to plan an ambush weren’t you,” one ব্যক্ত roughly.
I shook my head, my lips to dry to সরানো অথবা let alone make a noise.
“Then what were আপনি doing out there, doesn’t your mother প্রণয় you,” one sneered. I felt the jab rip into my heart. I glared at the man hating him with a passion.
“How dare আপনি speak to me of my mother,” I hissed stabbing a finger at him, tears streaming down my face. I had figured that this was a dream so I could do whatever I wanted. I wouldn’t get in trouble for it.
“We shall speak to আপনি in whatever manner we want,” one snarled. Jeez, violent dream.
“I’m not afraid of you, you’re just a dream, do your worst,” I said.
One stepped অগ্রবর্তী and grinned wickedly, “Then I guess আপনি won’t mind if we tie আপনি up then?”
I hesitated, always with people I pretended to be alright with death that it was nothing to me. But I could see it in this man’s eyes that he wouldn’t hesitate to kill me. Even though this was a dream I still felt scared.

They all grinned and suddenly they lunged for me. The pounced and pushed me up against the pole. One put his hands in his pocket and pulled out a thick and heavy chain. They tied it around my waist and attached it to the pole.

I was restrained against the pole and I saw a crowd of people out on the street. They all looked at me with fearful eyes as if they knew what was going to happen to me. Finally the men stood back. One kicked me painfully in my side, and I crumpled. I pulled myself up. And leaned against the pole and watched the men go into their house. I bit back my tears with all my will force but I still couldn’t stop them. I kept them silent though, no need to start sobbing.

I started to feel hungry, nothing major but I’d be happy if I got an আপেল অথবা something. চকোলেট would be better though.

“Are আপনি a freedom fighter?” someone asked. I jerked my head up and looked a girl about my age. She had black ringlets that fell down her back and startling blue eyes. She had a bandage around her arm. Her eyes were fierce and she held herself high. I tried পাঠ করা her mind but again I was blocked দ্বারা some unknown force.

“A who?” I asked bewildered. She gave me a curious look and then frowned.
“I guess I was wrong, Dylozyn isn’t going to be saved দ্বারা the freedom fighters, but then again you’re a bit young to be a freedom fighter,” she ব্যক্ত hopelessly.
“Dylozyn?” I asked still baffled.

“The empire, আপনি half wit,” she ব্যক্ত rolling her eyes. There aren’t any empires in the wo—crap.
“God, couldn’t I get a realistic dream, one in the twenty first century,” I muttered.
“This is no dreaming this reality and girly আপনি better start facing it,” the girl snapped. My temper flared and I fought to control.

“Doesn’t talk to me like that, I don’t even come from here, this all just a dream, a painful one at that,” I added. People were starting to edge closer observing the conversation. I must have been a frightful sight to them, tears streaming down my face, my hair everywhere.
“I’m sorry, it’s just that we haven’t had hope in a long time,” She said. I knew she really meant it because I could see it in her eyes.

“What are আপনি doing talking,” A soldier yelled banging open the doorway. He leaned towards the girl,
“Do আপনি need another whipping?” he said. I could see the look of fright that flashed in her eyes. All of a sudden one hit her across the temple with the back of his hand. This girl wasn’t going to pay for my faults. I sat there fighting a mental battle between what I knew was right and my own discomfort.
“I reckon fifty whips are in order this time,” he sneered.
I took a really loud gasp, “You can count that high,” I ব্যক্ত mockingly, but it sounded stupid because my voice quivered too much. Everyone went silent and turned to look at me with their mouths hanging open, and I saw the man’s back tense. Everyone looked at me with stunned faces. I wondered if the pope would look the same if I insulted Jesus.
“I think আপনি need to learn a lesson missy,” he growled.
“Are আপনি smart enough to teach it?” I said. I felt like kicking myself, I must have sounded like the geek trying to be cool with the way my voice sounded.
He smiled at me and went inside, “Stay there,” he said.
“No really I was thinking I’d go and get a cup of tea,” I ব্যক্ত sarcastically tugging on the chain tied around my waist. I absolutely hated it when people asked প্রশ্ন like that. Like, are আপনি thinking what I’m thinking.

He gave me a malicious look and went inside. I sighed and leaned against the pole.
The girl gave me a frightened look, “You shouldn’t have done that, and আপনি shall be whipped now, but thank আপনি for drawing the attention away from me. This is going to hurt,” she said.
“I know,” I mouthed, my breaths coming out short and hard, tears streaming down from my fear.
And suddenly the men burst from the doorway each holding a long black whip in the hands.

Suddenly they ripped me from the chains and pushed me off the porch. Jeez they were strong if they could rip chains off someone .I fell on my hands and knees. They pulled me up and pushed me up against the pole. They pulled my শার্ট up at the back and somehow made it stay there.

“How many mates,” one said. He seemed to be enjoying himself.
“I never knew আপনি had friends. Oh do আপনি pay them to be your friends. Must be a deer cost,” I ব্যক্ত অভিনয় surprised. I didn’t hear their response but পরবর্তি সেকেন্ড one of the whips slashed across my back.
I cried out in pain. I could feel the blood trickling down my back. I tried to concentrate on something different. I focused on steadying my breath and concentrating on that. But it didn’t work and each whip was as worse as the one before. I was sobbing দ্বারা the end of it.

“Jeez that hurt,” I said. Slowly maybe I was imagining it but things started to blur up. I leaned back against the pole and suddenly the whole scene changed and I was back in the hospital.
I hate when আপনি walk away from me
because I'm always scared that আপনি won't be come back
I hate every time i see you
because i always melt like ice scream on sun
I hate every time when I'm not seeing you
because i always think where are you
I hate that you're always in my head
because i can't think about anything else but you
I hate when আপনি don't talk with me
because i always think that i did something wrong
I hate that i always try to impress you
but it's like আপনি don't see that
I hate every time আপনি touch me instinctively
because আপনি always make me want to hold you,to চুম্বন you
I hate every time আপনি talk...

And of course, the initial reaction to a শিরোনাম like this one is, "Well, why don't you make me care about what you're saying, first?"

So I'll cut straight to the chase: When submitting a short story, অথবা even a poem for publication in a literary magazine, keep in mind that the editors receive hundreds of submissions a day, which means that they don't have time to read every last one of them. This is why it is incredibly important to hook them in your first few sentences, other than start slow and verbosely build up to why they should care. Therefore, this will be a succinct explanation of why...

He didn’t want money অথবা fancy cars; all he wanted was to be loved দ্বারা someone, any one at all. He needed someone to care about him, not his wealth, not his ties to the rich and famous, someone that actually cared about him, the boy with bright blue eyes that sparkled in the sunlight, curly raven black hair and a boyish grin permanently plastered on his face hiding the pain of being alone. Yet no one did, all they saw was the heir to the Jeffrey Empire, the boy that was going to inherited it all. The boy, who was the prefect son living up to the Jeffrey name. They never saw the boy’s who’s arms were covered in cuts, the ছুরি against his skin, the blood dripping down staining the carpet, his eyes closing never to open again. No one read the note tucked into his pocket cause no one cared.
The only sound that could be heard in the large hospital of Melbourne was the continuous beeps from the room in which Jamie's daughter lay.

The white walls and the bright yellow lights were too much for Jamie too take and the প্রশ্ন which he dreaded to ask himself filled his head. First of all why is my precious Stephanie in here? Nothings wrong with her she stayed at Ashley's all weekend. What could have happened? and secondly why hasn't that receptionist stopped staring at me. She hasn't looked away since i sat down.
Jamie looked down at his watch, it was eight in the morning. He had been...

I shouldn’t have shot the dog. I definitely shouldn’t have shot the dog. Even if he did chew upon my prized drumsticks, and feast upon my freshly-baked brownies. The little white-and-brown terror, Mickey, belonged to my neighbor. My neighbor, an 87-year-old chain-smoker named Mary, rarely left the confines of her living room. She sat, দিন in and দিন out, as her precious mutts wreaked havoc about the neighborhood.
You can see it! My house, the little beasts have chewed upon everything their gnashing, tiny, sharp little teeth could find. I did my best to keep them out, but the little bastards...

At lunch I went over and sat পরবর্তি to Liz, she looked up at me and smiled. “So, you’re talking to me” I said, I opened my can and took a sip out. “Yeah, I forgive you” she said, and then she turned and looked at Adam. “Is that why?” I ব্যক্ত nodding at Adam. She smiled at me, and giggled. “He’s happy” The word shocked me as they came out of her mouth; I had forgotten that Adam was as Liz tells me ‘unhappy’. I gave her a light smile, I had made him happy. নমস্কার there, everyone! It's the start of a brand new year, and I know we all have brand new ideas for our lives. That is why I want to open this বছর up with the first ever ফ্যানপপ কবিতা contest! It's basic and simple, because everyone can write poetry, and it's short which means everyone can read all of the submissions in a brief period of time, whereas stories may take longer. However, if you're a story-writer (I sympathize), never fear! If this contest goes well, I may sponsor a ফ্যানপপ Short Story Contest afterwards.

Established Rules
1) Any piece of কবিতা is accepted, so long as it is not...

Once upon a time, not long পূর্বে and not far away, there lived a wise and skillful artist who loved to paint. He delighted in making magic with color and bringing all the প্রতিমূর্তি he saw in his head to life in his pictures.

One day, he was painting something extra special. His brush dipped in and out of the swirling রঙ and flew across the canvas in expert strokes; dabbing here, blending there, moving swiftly in a joyful, marvelous...
