On the other hand, she was cautious what she said about Hareton and Cathy. I think she wanted Hareton to appear as the truly wronged so he seems devoted and quiet against Heathcliff etc. and with Cathy she presented a 'lady' who'd been through a lot cz rememeber as Nelly admits, Lockwood was a potential candidate of marriage for Cathy - to take her away.
In the end, when Lockwood describes the pair, he doesn't go into detail - he instead simply states their ill-veiled attmept at hiding their admiration and love for each other - making them reminiscent of C&H. Even if they did indulge in more PDA - Lockwood being a gentleman was not likely to comment on it I think.
As for PDA (and outbursts) in both WH romances, I do not include PDA in my opinion because that isn't a definitive with the kind of love and depth in these books (even in present society). JE does not have a lot of PDA either between Jane/Rochester except during the "engagement" and the final chapters. Even then, it is minimum. Jane does not tolerate it otherwise.
True about the narration (another thing I didn't care for in the book). However, the depth of Cathy/Heathcliff was made apparent through narration as well, regardless of whether it was admired by those narrating. With that common variant, I felt there was a difference between both relationships and their subsequent loves.
