OOC: The beginning of the third and final fic in Kenzie's little trilogy. Enjoy!

Kenzie grinned in delight, watching Delta furiously charge towards Robin and scissor kick him. He retaliated, grabbing her legs and flipping her to the ground. Kenzie gave a small laugh and the teens gave her simultaneous smiles before going back to their training. She shifted her attention to Bentley, Aisling, Belle, and Russel, her momentary visitor. The four sulked in the corner. It was a habit for the particular group. Kenzie got up from her place and, carefully avoiding the sparring siblings, she made her way over to the group.
Russel, being about her age, smiled and nodded at her as she approached. She returned his warm greeting, feeling her cheeks redden with a blush. She pushed her glasses further up the bridge of her nose, continuing forward. Belle wasn’t paying any attention to the spar-- she was eyeing Bentley longingly. Kenzie noticed this, and sensed the air getting awkward, considering Isabelle was engaged to some boy from the future, but she ব্যক্ত nothing because Bentley didn’t seem to notice.
Aisling waved Kenzie closer, and the seven-year-old obliged, hurrying to get there. She gave Aisling a gentle hug and turned to watch Delta pull Robin onto his feet when the simulation ended. Delta nodded to Devin, who checked the practice list. “Belle and Fang,” she announced, and Fang left her side, going to the floor and taking off his jacket. He went to simply throw it on the floor behind him before he caught Kenzie’s stare. She raised an eyebrow at him, shifting her weight onto her left side and placing her fingers together in front of her as if to snap. He shuffled back sheepishly, gave Robin his জ্যাকেট to hold, and walked back up.
Belle meanwhile was focused on her crush and hadn’t heard her name. Kenzie turned to her and tugged on her sleeve. Belle didn’t সরানো from her spot, and Kenzie turned to Devin. “You say Bentley’s like this on every girl?”
“A lot of them, yes.” Devin sighed and yelled from across the room. “Belle!”
The teen snapped back into reality, focusing back into the spar. “Oh. My turn?” She grimaced and shrugged off her jacked, throwing it too the floor. Fang watched this in shock.
“Why doesn’t she get karma’d?” he questioned Kenzie accusingly. She smiled innocently at him. “I like her better,” she smirked with an evil sweet smile only a girl of her age could manage and pull off. Fang groaned and turned to Belle, who was nonchalantly inspecting her fingernails. She stopped and got into position, Fang following her lead, and the spar began.
Across the room, Delta, Robin and Devin watched Kenzie, who was intently focusing on her বন্ধু fighting. Delta smiled at the young girl’s somewhat feigned intensity, when a sudden realization struck her. Turning to her brother she asked, “When was her birthday?”
He paused in thought. “She never really had one.”
Devin supplied, “I think she just chose it whenever she liked. That’s a habit we happen to have.”
Delta nodded. “Did she tell আপনি when it was this year.
Robin once again paused, but Devin beat him to it. “June 14th, I think.”
“Today’s the 14th.”
“Let’s get Kenzie a present then,” Robin suggested.
“Like what?”
“I want a puppy!” Kenzie exclaimed from across the room.
They jumped slightly, smiling nervously. “She has super hearing now?” he muttered under his breath. “Apparently,” Devin replied in the same manner.
Delta whispered, “Shiba inu অথবা golder retriever?”
“Shiba inu,” the other two retorted simultaneously.
Just then the zeta tubes alerted the team in the room of Batman’s arrival. Kenzie reached for her katana in excitement as he explained the mission, but as she left, a hand on her shoulder stopped her. Delta shook her head. “Sorry, Kenz. Not this time.” Puzzled, Kenzie looked to Robin, who knelt down and hugged her. “We don’t want আপনি dead... again...” he added softly, and was gone.
When they were all gone, Kenzie kicked the floor in frustration. “I’m not just some kid,” she growled, clenching her fists in anger. “And I’m not that girl!”
A warmth growing in her palms drew her attention to her hands and found they were on fire. She yelped and waved the flames off her gloves, then stared at her hands in amazement. Maybe she was that girl.
She bit her lip and thought for a second. They weren’t going explain to her who she was and why they wanted to protect her so much, but they weren’t going to let her on missions. She had to find this out herself. She found herself making a naive decision to run away, packing a bag with necessities. She pulled out the rubber band in her hair and dashed into her room. No, Fin’s room. She opened the window and looked back into the room. She quickly made a note explaining her moral situation and grabbed a pair of sunglasses.
She leapt onto the windowsill and once again turned. “Love you,” she murmured to no one in particular. Then she jumped out, closed the window, and flew away.
