Her mouth had gone dry long before the night was out. Her arms shot pain through her body as they spread out on either side of her like wings. Her legs and feet were covered in the dirt from the floor. The door opened and harsh light filled the room. She hissed, blinking away the spots from her vision. The gag cutting into her skin was removed. She looked to where her captor stood and muttered a soft word. A laugh echoed in the room, smooth and icy.
“My apologies for making আপনি miss your flight. I had আরো urgent news for you.”
She spoke quietly, but her captor caught every word.
“You could say that. My regrets for the poor treatment, dear girl.”
She spat out another word, this time in a different language. She heard a snicker and the only other occupant answered back in the same language.
“Learning Russian are we? Wouldn't have anything to do with that boyfriend of yours, would it?”
Her eyes flashed daggers but she grew silent.
“I'll take that as a yes. Anyway, আপনি have nothing to fear, we will not hurt you, blah blah blah. I am instructed to tell আপনি this in person. আপনি know why you're here. Cooperate and all will be well. Refuse and..well suffer the fate আপনি bring etc.”
She saw movement at her side and then her arm flopped to her side. Her other arm was released and she almost cried in relief. A strong hand pulled her to her feet and then wrapped around her waist. Blood flowed into the numb limbs as she stood shakily on them. Slowly, she was escorted from the chamber and into a different room.
It wasn't too big but was decorated for royalty. The adjoining closet and bathroom were almost cavernous. Hot water waited in the bathing pool scented with rose petals. She was seated on a soft chair and fatigue clouded over her. She would have fallen asleep except that she was pulled to her feet a সেকেন্ড later দ্বারা the same strong hands.
