Kinda a response to Robin_Love's lovely one-shot titled ~Day and Night~. If this sucks and seems lacking in my usual detail-obsessed-touch, I blame a 5 mile hike and the late ঘন্টা in which I am typing this up. Enjoy!
Vika squealed for the tenth, maybe hundredth time. Nic groaned. "Stop making that horrid sound!" he ordered, shutting his eyes in effort to fend off the pressing headache. The girl ignored him.
"Summer romance!" she squeaked. "Is that really the phrasing she used?"
Alek looked up to see Vika leaning over the railing looking down at him with a frivolous expression, her golden irises glittering. She reminded him of a little girl begging for the details of an enchanting fairytale, animated দ্বারা the promises of true প্রণয় and happily-ever-after. A charm resembling the sun was cupped gently in her hands so delicately the stone might as well have been a fragile butterfly. The boy felt anxious at the sight of the নেকলেস some place other than resting safely around his throat, and a considerable amount of his will power was being put into not leaping from the water of the উপসাগর and snatching it from Vika's fingers. But the risk of losing the treasure among the tides was too great a possibility for him to fathom.
"Yes, that's what she said," Alek confirmed, feigning annoyance at the repeated question. Secretly, his হৃদয় gave an extra leap every time he thought of the night before.
"That's so sweet!" Nic moaned at the high pitch of her voice. Vika stuck her tongue out at him in response. Alek took no notice of the exchange as he clenched his teeth around the rebreather and ঘুঘু under the waves.
Slowly the teenager made his way to the sand, where he sat criss-cross in a meditation position. Far above the sun filtered through the crests of the waves, the rays splicing the depth into into a glistening masterpiece of light and dark. The hull of Common Sense was a shadow floating on the surface.
Surrounded দ্বারা gallons of water, void of any buildings, cars, civilians, and the risk of reducing a block of the city to a crater, Alek unhinged the hold on the vigor streaming through his DNA. The steadfast pounding of his হৃদয় slowed itself to a softer cadence as the strain of containing the power lessened. The water attained an unnatural ice-blue glow as the tendrils of raw energy seeped from his hold and extended, stretching to their fullest potential. And here, at the bottom of the sea, all fear of harming innocents aside, Titanium practiced honing his ability to its fullest extent.

Using the ladder, Alek hulled himself onto the deck of his leader's speedboat. He shivered as a breeze stirred, raising রাজহংসী bumps on his soaked skin. His eyes trailed to the sky, roamed the stars, and landed on the moon. Surrounded দ্বারা so many pin-points of light; and yet, the crescent appeared so alone among its piers. As always, the thought made his breath catch. You've left her alone again, Aleksander, Luna reminded him.
Just then, a towel collided with his chest, and he stumbled back, wide eyes turned to the কেবিন where a white haired girl his age leaned in the doorway of the ship's cabin. She grinned at his startled expression and held up a hand. Dangling from her fingers was a chain and suspended from it, a pendent of stone representing a sun.
"Two mile swim to Happy Harbor."
The exhausted demeanor vanished, replaced দ্বারা an eager grin. Vika giggled at her brother's anticipation and tossed him the charm, which he slid over his head in a flash. "I will inform Nic আপনি had an 'emergency' to attend to."
"Spasibo, sestra." He slid back into the water and out of sight.
"Goodnight, Aleksander," she whispered to the air.

The sun resting against his bare chest seemed to burn against his skin as he made his way down the hall. দ্বারা the time the boy reached the room he was looking for, the thudding in his chest had turned to a consistent pounding. But the renewed vigorous pace had nothing to do with the hours he had spent expending the overload of energy within him.

The feeling that he was invading a territory he had no right to be in was a strong as ever, but the pull he felt to the girl asleep on the বিছানা in the corner was too strong to set aside. He tread lightly to stand a foot from her and crouched beside the bed, reaching out a hand toward Tara to brush a lock of her silky brown hair from her face.
Snapping himself from the trance, Alek silently cursed himself. Why was he here? He would simply wake her from her rest. Why would she want to see him now, after he had left her all day? It would be selfish to try to steal this time for himself. He sighed, laid a light চুম্বন in her forehead, and stood from his crouch. Turning to leave, he felt thin, gentle fingers grasp his wrist. A glance over his shoulder met open brown eyes, hazy with sleep but awake enough to see him. Alek feared she would become angry with him for a moment.
But the hand pulled him back to her. All reserves had broken down the moment he had met her eyes. Alek laid on the comforter behind Tara and slid an arm around her waste. All remaining tension left him the moment she rested her head on the crook of his shoulder. With the relief returned the exhaustion of the night. The comforting feel of his প্রণয় safely in his arms, Alek slipped into a dream of warmth and captivating brown eyes.
