Chapter Two:

Sarah was surprised to see Sam inside the elevator. He walked out, cape, suit, বেল্ট still attached, but his mask off. He walked over and looked at Sarah.

"Is there some boring assignment I can do?" he asked.

Sarah looked at him for a moment. "Talk." she said.

Revenge sighed and sat on the desk. "It's Holly. I'm worried about her."

"Why? Because she might get kicked out of this Team আপনি guys are on?"

"No, because she's my partner."

Sarah's looks turned compassionate. She placed her hand on Sam's knee. "None of what happened was your fault." she said.

"It is." Sam said. "If I had been better, Rose wouldn't have gotten hurt so much."

"And if Vendicta hadn't gotten shot with that beam and been exposed to that gas, she wouldn't have had all of those superpowers." Sarah said.

"Name one other time she got hurt that it was good."

"Besides moral lessons? None."

"Exactly my point. And Ryan was no different."

"What happened to Eagle was not your fault. He chose his own destiny. It might have been আপনি in that spot. আপনি might've been killed."

"Stop trying to make me feel better!" Sam exclaimed. "It's me. I draw bad luck. I can't save those who are my friends."

"Or girlfriends." Sarah added.

"You're not helping." Sam said.

"Why don't আপনি go investigate this." Sarah said, handing him a piece of paper. "String of murders. Looks unconnected, but I found out they all went to the same high school. Looks like Reaper's out for Revenge."

"I'll handle it." Revenge said.

চিরশ্যামল গুল্মবিশেষ stepped through the transporter into the Cave. She walked over to the Leaguers standing there. Green Lantern, Batman, and Martian Manhunter.

"Courage." ব্যাটম্যান ব্যক্ত gruffly.

"As আপনি know, we are sending আপনি on an assignment to prove your loyalty to this Team." Lantern began.

"You will head to Germany and assassinate Lex Luthor. The League needs no fingerprints left on this." ব্যাটম্যান said.

"Any backup?" চিরশ্যামল গুল্মবিশেষ asked.

"Yes, Artemis will accompany you."

"Where is she?" চিরশ্যামল গুল্মবিশেষ asked, looking around.

"Preparing. আপনি leave tomorrow." ব্যাটম্যান said. "Dismissed."

Revenge punched the other robber in the face. He fell to the ground, out cold. 

"Pitiful." Revenge said, looking down on the four unconscious robbers.

"Revenge!" Sarah's voice echoed through his earpiece.

"I'm here, what is it?" Revenge asked.

"Attack at Grant Industries. Some important person is under attack. Draxx called in SWAT and FBI."

"He's serious about protecting this guy."

"Yeah, he's got a visual confirmation. It's Reaper."

Revenge shot a grappling line at the nearest building and swung towards his father's former company.

Police cars were parked in a বৃত্ত around one guy in a business suit and Chief Draxx. Police hid behind cars and pointed their বন্দুক in different directions.

Revenge dropped down পরবর্তি to Draxx, scaring the business man half-to death.

"Revenge, thank heavens you're here. I was afraid আপনি hadn't gotten my message."

"I did. আপনি ব্যক্ত it was Reaper?"

"Reaper? As in Grim Reaper?" the man asked. The chief and Revenge ignored him.

"Yeah, he's somewhere, but no one can pinpoint him."

A dagger flew out of no where and impaled itself in a cop's shoulder. She fell to the ground clutching the wound.

"Man down! Man down!" a guy yelled, bending down পরবর্তি to the woman.

Revenge switched on infrared and scanned the area. He couldn't find anything.

"Nothing." he said. "He's found a way to disguise his heat signature." 

Three daggers impaled themselves in Revenge's chest and Reaper came down, kicking him in the chest. Revenge flew back. Reaper stabbed the business man in the chest and took off, bullets flying after him.

Revenge stood up, looking at the dent he had made in the cop car. He pulled the daggers out of his vest and walked over to the man. He felt for a pulse.

"Dead." he reported.
