~*•S4B Burning Q&A•*~

Is the Sorcerer the author of the story book?
EDWARD KITSIS: Can’t say.

Will we meet the Sorcerer in the second half of the season?
ADAM HOROWITZ: Yes.

Is there a way to rewrite the story book so that deaths can be reversed?
HOROWITZ: Can’t say.

Will we find out what happened to those who were inside the Sorcerer’s hat?
KITSIS: Yes.

Should the fans still have hope for RumBelle’s happy ending?
KITSIS: Yes, they should have hope because this is a show about hope. The minute you lose hope, then nothing will happen.

Will we ever see Rumple’s trip to Camelot?
HOROWITZ: Can’t say.

Will we see Belle’s mother (Frances O’Connor) again?
HOROWITZ: Maybe.

Should Archie (Raphael Sbarge), who has a dalmatian named Pongo, be worried now that Cruella de Vil (Victoria Smurfit) is coming to town?
KITSIS: Yes.

Was that Pongo in the flashback?
HOROWITZ: No.

Will Regina (Lana Parrilla) find out that the Knave (Michael Socha) knew her mother?
HOROWITZ: Maybe.

Will we get the story of Will Scarlet’s sister?
KITSIS: We did get it in Wonderland.
HOROWITZ: We’ll get more of Will Scarlett’s story.
KITSIS: We’re really excited about the second half because we’re going to see much more Will.

Will Robin Hood (Sean Maguire) get a flashback episode?
HOROWITZ: Oh, absolutely.

Will Regina ever return the hearts that are in her vault?
KITSIS: Boy, I don’t know. If they’re still around.

Will we see Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and Regina’s relationship grow due to them working together?
KITSIS: Absolutely.

Will Emma ever get to hear the message Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) left for her?
KITSIS: Nope.
HOROWITZ: It was erased by Rumple.
KITSIS: I have a feeling that he’s acted it out for her.

Will Hook seek revenge on Rumple?
KITSIS: Oh, yes.

Does Hook have a past with Ursula (Merrin Dungey)?
KITSIS: Can’t say.

Will we see Ursula’s moray eels?
KITSIS: Don’t know.

Will we see King Triton’s kingdom?
HOROWITZ: Maybe.

Will we ever find out the identity of the Black Fairy?
HOROWITZ: Maybe.
KITSIS: Someday we will.

Will the Snow Queen’s (Elizabeth Mitchell) curse on the town line be broken?
HOROWITZ: In the near term, it will be a big problem.
KITSIS: But we have seen that you can find Storybrooke if you have the right utensils.

Any chance the Frozen sisters will ever return?
HOROWITZ: Never say never.

Is Henry (Jared Gilmore) going to learn any magic?
KITSIS: Is he going to learn magic? No. But does he believe in magic? Yes.

This is random, maybe, but is Henry still attending school? Is there time for regular education between curses?
KITSIS: Yes! You’re going to see Henry in school in the opening of the premiere. There is always time for learning, Oncers. Always.

Should we expect another pregnancy on the show after Snow (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Aurora (Sarah Bolger)?
HOROWITZ: Can’t say.
KITSIS: I mean, at some point, someone is going to get knocked up. That’s just the way life works.

~*•Season 4B Premiere Q&A•*~

1. @MariaPazMS: What's the dynamic like between the Queens of Darkness? Do they clash much?
Take a look at our sneak peek video above to see for yourself! ETonline has snagged our fellow OUAT fans a clip from the Queens of Darkness' first meeting and their wicked banter is even more amazing then you could have ever hoped. "We just loved the idea of a team of evil and when we were saying our wish list of who we wanted to write, it was kind of these three," Kitsis spilled of the evil trifecta.

2. @celianomas: How did Regina/Gold contacted people in other city to adopt Henry in past seasons and now it seems this is not possible?
Never doubt the power of the internet, my friends -- or as Hook calls it, "that magical box" in Belle's library.

3. @AshAshmarie20: Any hope that can be given for Rumbellers or why they should continue watching given the recent spoilers?
According to Kitsis, there's definitely hope for Rumple and Belle to rekindle their flame. "He is going to do his Rumple-ist to get Belle back. So you are going to see full-Rumple." To follow up on that, Horowitz confessed that at the end of episode 14, Rumple will start on a "new quest that he's really energized about." Our money is on a love quest with a side of revenge.

4. @niyati_92: Do Emma and Killian have a convo about everything that occurred in 4A? Or do they have any heart-to-heart convo?
They actually have both! Their biggest and most swoon-worthy conversation happens in the sheriffs' office in episode 14. Kitsis teased that Emma is "beginning to open her heart up," and it most certainly shows. And, as we've said before, Emma and Hook have coffee in Sunday's premiere. Note: By coffee, we mean the dark-colored liquid that many drink to stay awake. As for the nookie-nickname that the Captain Swan fandom has created? All we can say is stay tuned...

5. @Lady_Junky: Are we gonna see [Maleficent's] dragon form again?
Yes, in episode 14 in all its fiery glory!

6. @shawngf7: Any information on how Regina and Henry will grow and develop through Project Mongoose is appreciated. Thanks!
Over the past six weeks, Operation Mongoose has been in full swing with Regina's office as their central hub. Regina and Henry's scenes are as sweet as chocolate-frosted donuts (you'll understand in episode 14) and Horowitz also revealed that Henry is going to be a key component in Emma and Regina's blooming friendship. "There's a new common ground between [Emma and Regina] that I think will help build on that friendship," he said. "In addition to Henry they have something that they can share and deal with."

7. @skyliange: What is the 'connection' that the Charmings have with the QoD?
Let's just say that long ago in the Enchanted Forest -- before the big curse hit the land -- these heroes and villains had the same goal: protect the lives of those they love most.

8. @CapitainSwan__: I heard that Hook and Belle became good friends. Can you tell us anything more about their friendship?
We can tell you that we adore this friendship more than a basket full of newborn kittens. Seeing Hook comfort Belle in a moment of sadness -- and vice-versa -- will warm your Hookelle-loving heart. Plus, the fact that they are combining their brilliant minds to solve a puzzling case, makes us wish they had their own spin-off procedural called CSI: Storybrooke.

9. @asinoski: Will we find out that someone is pregnant? *coughReginacough*
We're going to plead the fifth on this one.

10. @Chloe_Queen: Please any on Emma/Snow relationship? We really didn't have much in 4A. I miss seeing Emma/Snow scenes!
Well then you might not want to hold your breath for some Storybrooke "Mommy and Me" scenes in the next two episodes. We will have more Charming Family scenes than we've had in the past, but that doesn't mean that these scenes will be truth-filled ones. (Sorry, y'all...)

11. @theMagicalTweet: Does Rumple seem to genuinely miss Belle?
Oh yes. We've never seen a more devastating look of despair as when Rumple first lays his eyes on Belle after all their time a part. But to see that sadness instantly transform into unfiltered rage is absolutely terrifying.

12. @txangelwolf: Do our heroes meet the QOD in the first episode?
Well, technically most of our heroes first met the Queens of Darkness long ago. But to expand on your question, yes -- two-thirds of our evil trifecta will enter Storybrooke in Sunday's premiere.

13. @good_plain_jane: Do we get to see any of Hook's insecurities that Adam & Eddy were talking about? Or any clue which QOD he knows?
We're definitely getting a deeper peek at the internal struggles that Hook is battling with. "We are going to realize that he has got some things going on in his head that he is concerned about," Kitsis shared. As for which Queen of Darkness Hook shares a past with? We can't tell you who it is, but we can tell you that Emma's wave of jealousy/curiosity after seeing [Spoiler] and Hook's first encounter back together is definitely worth-watching.

14. @AndryPresh: Will Regina finally get rid of the "evil" monicker now that she's redeemed herself for over two seasons or will it follow her around?
We're so glad you asked this! One of the most hilarious lines in episode 13 is when someone in present-day Storybrooke - we're not naming names here - calls Regina the Evil Queen in a time of peril. To which Regina snaps in an exasperated tone, "Can we drop the "E" world already?!" Whatever you say, your majesty...

15. @repeatlitanies: Anything new about Belle would be great! I'm hungering for more!
Not only is our book-lover still keeping the Storybrooke library in tip-top shape, she also is making a point to keep Mr. Gold's Pawn Shop up and running. She even invites a wonderful new friend to be her guest at the shop in episode 14.

16. @Msqueenemmy: Anything OutlawQueen?
The only OutlawQueen scene is when Emma finds a very special momento of Regina's could've been/should've been love life with Robin. We don't have much else to report other than the fact that Regina is still very much in love with her OTL. Luckily when we asked Kitsis about Regina's FFTBFF (Former Foe Turned Best Friend Forever, natch) Emma, the show-runner spilled that our savior is "absolutely" determined to find Regina's happy ending.

17. @PhoenixHeart815: Will we find out how Ursula & Cruella were able to live outside of Storybrooke (Real World) without aging during the 28-year curse?
According to the creators we most definitely will, but we can confirm that it will not happen in the next two episodes. "There's an upcoming episode where all the piece on the chessboard are laid up and we find out who wound up where and why," Horowitz said. "That will also speak to the earlier question of why these three and how they connected and what they're all after together."

18. @ouat_csfan_: Can we get a quote between Hook and someone?
"Love is a weapon." -- Hook to Belle.

19. @mysunshine0808: Scoop on the Snowing secret? A hint? A breadcrumb?
Oh, we can definitely give you more than a measly bread-crumb: The Snowing secret is a two-parter. The first part -- if revealed -- will greatly affect their family dynamic. The second will drastically change the way you've always looked at this beloved couple.

20. @EmBeeKay: Are they ever going to eat at another restaurant besides Granny's Diner?
Funny you should ask because Regina begs that same question in Sunday's premiere. Not everyone shares Emma's endless grilled-cheese loving appetite.

21. @Lizzyc807: The preview shows Cruella breathing on the dogs - does her breath just calm animals into submission?
Ding ding ding! You've guessed Cruella's secret power, so here is your scoop-filled prize. "We thought she should have a power so that she feels a part of the show," Kitsis explained. "We love the idea that she can speak to animals, not like Doctor Doolittle, but in a more cruel way. Her backstory is coming up toward the middle of the second half and that's probably our favorite one"

22. @Melaniee_27: On a scale of 1 to captain swan heaven how perfectly cute is captain swan in 4x12 and 4x13?
Okay, let us put it this way. Take a look at this puppy...

You know those feelings you're feeling right now? High pitched squeals of delight, wanting to scream "Suh kewt!" and the overpowering instincts to smother it with love and affection? That's CaptainSwan in the first episode back.

~*•Adam & Eddy S4B Q&A•*~

If Emma were to embrace her dark side at all, how would Henry (Jared Gilmore) react?
Edward Kitsis: Henry would do his best his best to keep her on the good side of the Force. Henry has the heart of the truest believer, and the truest believer always believes in you even when you're maybe going down a wrong path.
With Emma possibly going to the dark side, how could that change her powers up to this point?
Adam Horowitz: It's less about what the powers are than how they're used.
Kitsis: We've seen Rumple (Robert Carlyle) and Regina use their powers to help us, be it fighting villains or whatnot. And we've seen them rip out the hearts of 20 villagers because they wouldn't let Regina know where Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) was.
Once scoop: Why is Emma's relationship with Hook threatened?
We found out that Snow White and Charming (Josh Dallas) did something really bad that the Queens of Darkness know about. How bad can it really be?
Kitsis: Hopefully bad enough but not bad enough that it's bleak, and [viewers] go, "Wow, what did they do to Once Upon a Time? That's the icky show now." What we really want to explore is if you've done a bad thing, can you come back from it? Can you become the person you want to be even if you didn't start out that way? And vice versa? What makes a hero and what makes a villain is a point of view.
Horowitz: For the last number of seasons, we've seen a lot of our villains like Regina and Gold kind of go on a redemption arc where we've seen them start really bad and try to fight those urges and be their better selves to varying degrees of success. What we wanted to do was start to explore the idea with our heroes as well ... and how it will start to affect Emma as well.
There's a moment with Regina holding the dagger that looked like she was tempted a little bit by that power. Now that she's going undercover with the Queens of Darkness, will she be struggling as if she's a double agent?
Horowitz: There's always an element with Regina of coming to terms with what she was and what she wants to be.
Kitsis: Regina's going to have a huge curveball thrown her way.
In the spring premiere, Belle (Emilie de Ravin) said that "love is a weapon." Will someone try to use it that way?
Horowitz: Always, in fact someone uses it in a way that is probably is my favorite usage of "love is a weapon" we've done on the show ever.
Are we supposed to infer that The Sorcerer is keeping The Author hostage?
Kitsis: It feels that way
Horowitz: It sure does. What's going on with The Sorcerer and The Author is something that hopefully will be clear pretty quickly.
Kitsis: In the second half, that question will be answered as well as we will meet The Author.
Are there other familiar faces you can tease coming up?
Kitsis: Why yes, in fact, we are happy to tell you that Barbara Hershey will be reprising the role of Cora.
Horowitz: It's more of Cora and Regina's past.
Kitsis: Mommy issues always. In the first episode this year, we had Emma saying to Regina, "My job is to give everyone a happy ending, and that includes you." We saw her wanting to be friends with Regina, and that's really going to be explored in the second half.
What is the endgame for the season? The Author being able to change the path of people's lives seems like it could be really big.
Horowitz: We started the season with Regina proclaiming she wanted to find The Author to have him write her a happy ending. We're going to make good on the promise of seeing what happens when you finally see he/she and try to do just that, and not just for Regina. Potentially it could have far-reaching effects.

~*•Lana Parrilla On Darkness Ahead In S4B•*~

Is the Evil Queen really done being evil... or could the use of darkness actually be a good thing in the near future?

We'll get the answer on Once Upon A Time Season 4 Episode 14, as the Queens of Darkness have found their way into Storybrooke. But will they soon find their way into Emma's soul?

If that happens, it will affect her relationship with Captain Hook (who has a past of his own with one of the Queens), her son, Henry and, also, with Regina.

While Regina has been working hard at being on the good side of things for a change, she may have to reach into her dark bag of tricks in order to save the people she loves. Yes, that includes Emma.

With that in mind, I spoke exclusively to Lana Parrilla in order delve into the darkness that has been hidden inside her beloved character for so long, yet may soon make its way out...

TV Fanatic: In these new episodes, Regina does have a broken heart because of the Robin Hood situation, but she seems to be keeping it together and not off in a corner eating Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Lana Parrilla: She’s not. I think she’s come to some sort of resolve with how her life unfolds over the years. I think she’s just like ‘this is kind of par for the course. This is my life. It never works out for me. Therefore, anything that goes wrong it’s to be expected.’ However, she hasn’t given up completely because we now know that there’s this author out there. That’s given her a sense of hope. So, that’s actually where her primary focus is for the remaining backend of the season is to find this author.

TVF: I’m concerned that maybe she’s putting all her eggs in one basket with finding the author. Do you think she’s doing that?

LP: I think it’s where she’s at right now. It’s kind of like when you focus on one thing and you’re somewhat obsessed about finding it or getting it or whatever it is until it happens. Then there’s really nowhere to go from there. So, she’s really just focused on that at the time being until other obstacles challenge her and her focus deviates and has to now deal with this new problem I guess you can call it, which is when the Queens of Darkness enter the picture.

So, it does kind of throw her off course a bit, but right now where she’s at is locating this author, finding out who he is. What we see in the second episode back is she gets this brilliant idea that the only person who really knows anything about this author is Pinocchio. So, she goes to Marco for help and Pinocchio for help to see if they know anything that can lead her to this author.

But she really wants to find this author because she knows that he’s in charge of her destiny. To get him to sort of rewrite her story would be the best outcome in her eyes. However, as we move forward, which you’ll see over the course of the season, it’s not the best way to go about it. Is there another way? That’s what we’ll explore and we’re currently filming the episodes where is it about finding this author? Is that what’s really going to make me happy or is there something else that I need to figure out? So, that’s really the path that she’s on without giving away too much.

TVF: There were a couple moments in the first episode back where we’re reminded that Regina was the evil queen. What do you think that means since she’s tried so hard to get away from that yet she’s reminded frequently about it?

LP: I mean, she was and she’s worked really hard to not be that person anymore. Yes, it’s interesting because she hates hearing the word because it’s just a reminder of all the negative things that she’s a part of and all the horrible decisions she’s made over the year. She wants to be separate from that because she’s working towards being a good person, I guess somewhat of a hero.

Even though that’s not her goal to be a hero, she’s really trying to do the right thing. If you’re constantly being reminded of your past flaws or mistakes it’s almost like reminding an alcoholic that he’s an alcoholic even though he’s been in AA for the last year. It’s like you don’t need to rub it in my face. ‘I don’t need to hear about it. We know what I’ve done. Let’s move on as I’ve moved on and am trying to move on.’ She doesn’t want to be connected to that word, per se.

However, like I said, as we move forward Regina discovers that darkness maybe isn’t so bad and maybe it can help her. Instead of using that power and that darkness to terrorize and torture people maybe she can actually use it to stop the people that are committing these horrible acts. Maybe she can transform that darkness, that dark power, using it for the greater good.

A hero can’t necessarily rip your heart out and crush it but Regina, she’s done it so many times. If she ripped someone’s heart out, someone who’s hurting children or someone who’s out there to destroy everyone, it’s less of a setback for her than it would be for anyone else. It’s basically like using this dark power to stop anyone from doing anything else wrong…she’s learning to embrace both the light and the dark and finding the balance between the two.

TVF: We’ve been teased that Emma may be exploring her dark side sometime very soon. How will that affect Regina since we’ve seen them now working together much more often?

LP: Emma’s gotten much better with her magic. She’s really learning how to control it. I think Regina’s quite proud of her for graduating to this level. They both know that working together is much more effective than working solo. They’re both on the same team, which we’ve seen a lot of ads asking is the savior going dark? We’ve seen a lot of those teasers that have been put out there. I think that that’s something Regina is very concerned about because that’s probably the last thing she wants is to Emma cross that line because she knows what the outcome is. It leads to a very unhappy ending. I think she’s really going to do her best to try to help Emma along to make the right decisions and do the right thing.

TVF: We’ve seen the history in the past with Regina and Maleficent. Safe to say that their reunion is not going to be a happy one when they do finally see each other?

LP: Well, she trapped her underground for 30 years in the form of a dragon so I think there’s definitely going to be a confrontation between the two. We will see it as a flashback episode, episode 14 where Regina meets Maleficent for the first time. So you see how that friendship formed. It’s a really great Maleficent backstory and Regina’s heavy in that backstory. It’s a really cool episode. There’s a lot of fun things that happen. We see how they became friends and then when you flash forward into Storybrooke you’ll see the contrast of that. It’ll be a compelling episode I think. Everyone will really like it.

TVF: How has it been for you with Kristin [Bauer van Straten, Maleficent] and with the two other ladies, Marin [Dungey, Ursula] and Victoria [Smurfit, Cruella]?

LP: It’s been a ball, just a ball. I absolutely love those women. They are a ton of fun, so stunning in every way. Just talented, charismatic, full of energy and very generous women. I’ve really, really enjoyed working with them. It’s been a great backend of the season to be in their company and to play the way we’ve been playing. There’s a lot of laughter, a lot of compliments. ‘Oh my God, look at you, you’re stunning.’ Honestly, the costumes, everyone looks beautiful and I think the audience is just going to love these new villains. I really do. I mean I don’t know how you can’t. I adore them.

TVF: I’m sure Eduardo [Castro, costume designer] is having a good time with dressing all of you. Having been to the set and his work space, I know he’s very good at what he does.

LP: He’s just so good at what he does. It’s fun to see them step on stage and admiring their costumes. I can’t believe how amazing these costumes are. It’s just nice to see them feeling good about being in these clothes and feeling like sexy, powerful, beautiful women because that’s what they are and it just enhances that. It’s remarkable. I really have enjoyed them.

~*•Lana Teases What's Ahead For Regina In 4x15•*~

Now that Regina (Lana Parrilla) has infiltrated the Queens of Darkness, she’ll face the very real possibility of being enticed back to the Dark Side. “Will Regina ever go back to being dark is really the question,” Parrilla tells EW. “Does she have the potential? Yes. Emma [Jennifer Morrison] has the potential. It’s like an alcoholic that’s been off the bottle for six months to a year. Maybe she can hold her own with these women. I think she can try her best not to cross over to the dark side again. She’s going to be very tempted.”

Seeking to track down the Author, the Queens of Darkness have now aged Pinocchio (Eion Bailey) in a bid to mine him for information, which they’ll do by any means necessary. “They’re going to torture him as much as they possibly can,” Parrilla teases. “They’re going to go as far as they can to get what they want. That’s always what the villains do. They’re working hand in hand with Gold [Robert Carlyle], so they have a powerful team.”

But by aligning with the Queens of Darkness, even under false pretenses, Regina is putting herself directly in the line of fire. “She’s taking a big chance here, especially with her life,” Parrilla says. “It’s worth it. She’s trying to find this Author and now she has to help Snow and protect this secret and help save Emma from going dark. That’s really what this is about, protecting Emma. She’s sacrificing herself in some ways, but that’s on par for Regina.”

Unfortunately, torturing August will pale in comparison to what the Queens of Darkness have in store next. It’s looking increasingly like they’ll set their sights on corrupting Emma. Could that be the moment Regina realizes this plan has gone too far?

Parrilla, of course, plays coy. “Emma is going to stop Regina from really taking it too far,” she says. “That’s what they end up doing for each other often. Regina’s coming from a place of, ‘Trust me, I know what I’m doing. We have to play by their rules.’ That’s not how Emma sees things.

“Regina is going to take it as far as she can possibly take it for herself without crossing her own boundaries,” she continues. “Regina has come to terms with both sides of her. The fact that she was this villainous character and still possesses this darkness, she can use this to her advantage. She’s working both sides. She’s going to try her hardest not to get too pulled into the darkness, but that’s a part of her—and it’s a part of her that she’s going to learn how to use in ways that she never has before.”

It sounds like it won’t be long before their plan to find the Author come to fruition; we’ll soon meet the mystery man capable of changing everything. “You will get a glimpse of him before knowing his identity as the Author. It’s a fun reveal,” Parrilla says. “He’s very unexpected. You can’t guess who the Author is. He’s unassuming. You’ll see him and meet him first without knowing that he’s the Author.”

Outside of her duties as a double agent, Regina will find herself with a new mission after fearing something is amiss with Robin Hood (Sean Maguire), who left Storybrooke with his family in the midseason finale. “Regina has a dream that spooks her,” she says. “It’s like her subconscious is trying to tell her something. It’s almost like she has a premonition in a dream. She wakes up and instinctively feels like something is wrong and she’s worried about Robin Hood. You’ll see her taking the next step to make sure he’s safe, and if not, what’s going on and what needs to be done to help him.”

Naturally, Parrilla is shy to say whether that means Regina will leave Storybrooke to track Robin Hood down. But she does somewhat quell OUAT fan fears about whether Robin Hood was really the man in the bar fated to be Regina’s soul mate. Is this really true love? “I think so. That’s at least what I’ve been told, and that’s what the story has been saying for quite some time. But who knows; maybe he isn’t,” she says. “Maybe there is someone else out there.”
