Pendleton Ward working on a Adventure Time movie, but nothing official yet 

Earlier this year, a feature film based on Cartoon Network hit

Adventure Time was reported to be in the works. Adam Muto, the show\'s executive producer, debunked that specific rumor today at New York Comic Con — but not before confirming that there was, in fact, a movie "in the works."

"[Series creator Pendleton Ward] is working on the premise of it," he told us during a roundtable discussion. Even so, there\'s "nothing official to announce yet."

This is just one of the ways in which Ward still contributes to the show after stepping down as an executive producer before the premiere of its previous season. "He doesn\'t come in every day" Muto said, but he stepped in to "help write outlines" for a few episodes that will air during season seven, which premieres Nov. 2.

While a feature film based on Adventure Time is not yet officially in development, the series is focusing on telling longer stories across multiple episodes, such as with the upcoming "Stakes" arc. The first two parts of what the team is referring to as a miniseries were shown for the first time to a packed room at New York Comic Con today.

The franchise has also expanded to other media as well: A virtual reality game for the Gear VR system is now available as a free download.
