even when faith was bad all she cared about was buffy! whereas buffy always just felt better than faith!

Yeah, I think Buffy tried to be nice to Faith mostly because she is a good person in general and she knew it was the right thing to do. I do think she did care about Faith, especially by Season 7; I just think Faith cared more.

i don`t like faith at all, at first i was like ITS OKAY SHES JUST DEPRESSED ITS OKAY but it was the last straw when she went to the mayor who wanted to kill buffy.

Honestly I think it's a tie. Because at first it was Buffy who cared about Faith and then after Faith went all bad then realized what she did, she felt horrible for Buffy and began to Care again... she fought hard to get Buffy's forgiveness and cared allot about her. And it ended with them both working together and trusting eachother. So I think it's a tie.

yeah im going with a tie too buffy cared at first but then stopped then started to care again i think she always felt in part like it was her responsiblity to take care of faith and then when she went all evily she felt let down by faith and herself but faith cared after she realized what she had done but by the end i think they both cared

well cared about nicly then i would say buffy

just cared about defo faith, like angelus b was all she could think about, went from freindship, wanting her life, jelousy, wanting to kill her, wanting forgivness but still all focuses on her and angel, in the land of faith no one else was worth it

Agree with debs. Faith might not have cared about Buffy in a nice way, but she regarded Buffy more than Buffy regarded her. She wanted to be Buffy because Buffy had all the things in her life she never did.

Plus, well, they both tried to kill each other.

season 7 though it was faith who clearly cared more for buffy in a nice way, so she did care in two ways i know buffy had every right to give up on her but i duno i juts found her to be quite a bitch to faith in s7!

Buffy cared ALOT about Faith but there comes a breaking point - like when Faith tried to steal her life then kill her. I think then Buffy was like " you know what? screw you bitch!" (the right attitude to have BTW!) But then Faith was all "OMG what have i done i'm such a bad person *whine whine feels really bad in a i deserve what i get kind of way whine*" and THEN i think she really cared(maybe like she did all along IDK) about Buffy WAY more than Buffy ever managed to care about Faith again.

Faith was a twisted kid, that's for sure, but I believe she really did care for Buffy, whereas Buffy only hung out with her to keep an eye on her. Buffy was jealous and suspicious of Faith from the beginning and never seemed to seriously care for her all that much.

Joining my twinlets. I believe that Buffy cared more about Faith but Faith was more obessed with Buffy. Faith wanted to be Buffy and have everyting Buffy had, from Joyce to Angel.

SG, there were several episodes where Buffy clearly resented how easily Faith fit in with her friends and the fact that she had to share the role of slayer. Perhaps jealous was the wrong word to use, but she was definitely resentful and reluctant to share her calling, whereas Faith seemed to be genuinely happy to find someone like her.

ElvenPirate is totally right, hear Buffy complain about Faith "she gets along with my friends (jada jada jada) and now she gets along with my fries" I'd call that jealousy. I guess Buffy was a little jealous because Faith was more relaxt about her Slayerbeing and seemed like an easy-going person in the very beginning.

I can't say who cared more; Faith was twisted, but in a strange way she cared and felt abandoned because no one seemed to be able to really touch her soul. She had a lot of issues and somehow she placed Buffy in the centre of it (I guess because she did like her, but the line between hate and love is the thinnest).

Buffy did care for Faith because she cared for people in general, it was nothing personal. She wanted to help Faith because she wants to help people. That's not a bad thing, on the countrary, but it wasn't really for Faith personally. I guess Faith knew...

I think they care in different ways, Buffy cares for her friends/family a lot but to stranges she just cares more shallow, she cares because they are people.
Faith didn't have a loving family, she doesn't have much friends, her caring is more desperate and obsessive. When it's about strangers Faith (season 3) almost can't care less, but that changes a lot during Angel and season 7 she seems to care way more for the potentials personally than Buffy did.

i think buffy cared more cause when faith killed a person buffy wanted to help her but faith wanted no help.
