That is nothing you see a lot in litterature/TV. I am looking very much forward to see more scenes with Katherine because she is kind of a female version of Katherine. I want to disagree with a lot of you here and say that I dont think Elena in the books is AMAZING, because she becomes very cheesy and sappy VERY quickly, just as soon as she looks at Stefan. But when she is with Damon I agree she is VERY amazing, love her with Damon both in the books and in the show. I dont think Elena is boring in the show. She is angsty and filled with tension, but only because all the people around her dont really help her unfold the fun personality she knows she used to have.
