Chapter 26
Welcome to the Family
Rosalie's POV
Carlisle and Esme took a আসন on the প্রণয় আসন and Edward sat in the chair in the corner of the room.
Which left me and Emmett to the large পালঙ্ক in the center of the room, Emmett sat close the edge and I took a spot পরবর্তি to him almost touching…but not quite.
“Well Emmett…” Esme started, “welcome to the family, officially. We are very happy to have আপনি যোগদান us.”
“Thank you.” Emmett smiled warmly, dimples in all. It was a smile I so rarely saw in a man. Sure, Carlisle smiled but it was আরো compassionate and all I got from Edward was usually a smug grin অথবা a small laugh. And his was আরো of an ‘I’m full of myself’ look.
Emmett’s…Emmett’s was sincere and truthful with a small hint of joking, but that was just his personality shining thru his beautiful face.

I smiled, too….something I have so rarely done lately.
Carlisle must have noticed because he winked at me and his smile grew wider.
“I’m sure আপনি have many অনুত্তরিত questions,” Carlisle stated and Emmett nodded. “Let’s begin with what exactly আপনি are.”
Emmett’s POV
I felt the warm liquid rush down my throat. The আগুন that I had just recently noticed was finally diminishing.
I turned around to face Carlisle and Rosalie. Rosalie smirked and signaled to me that I had a little blood left on the side of my mouth. I wiped it off and let out a small chuckle as I stepped up to them.
“How are আপনি feeling, son?” Carlisle asked me.
“Much better. And I have to say, after everything I have drank tonight, that ভালুক was definitely my favorite.” I laughed.
“Hmm…convenient.” Rosalie mumbled under her breath with a hint of a smile, I could tell it was আরো of a joke.

“Hey,” she greeted us looking mostly at Carlisle, who embraced her once she rose from the bench. “How did it go, Emmett?” Esme asked now looking at me from Carlisle’s arms.
“Good, thanks.” She nodded and turned her attention back to Carlisle. They both were making kissy faces and who knows what else, so I turned back to Rosalie who was standing close behind me.
She was looking down, so I could not see her face but I could still hear the sadness and anger in her voice when she mumbled something under her breath I could not make out.
Rosalie stepped out from behind me and continued into the house. I decided to leave Carlisle and Esme to them self and follow Rosalie.
Edward was across the hall working on a composition when he abruptly stopped. There was a series of whispers until I stepped threw the threshold.
Rosalie and Edward both stopped talking and glanced at me. Rosalie forced a smile before heading up to her room.

“She’s fine.” Edward spoke annoyed.
Damn mind reader.
“It’s not too great for me either.”
Whatever.
Edward chuckled and got up from his set then walked over to me, leaning against the wall.
“I know you’re…curious about her. Hell,” he laughed, “we all know that.”
I gave him a sarcastic glance. Glad he has a sense of humor. Was he just here to tease me? I am genuinely concerned about his sister…is that so bad?
“No, it’s not a bad thing.” Edward answered me. “But I know you’re আরো that just concerned about Rosalie. আপনি feel something for her.”

“Look, Rosalie has had the worst 2 years of her life and I think she is beginning to see a light at the end of this dark time. আপনি are somehow helping her thru this, don’t ask how অথবা why because even that is beyond me. I was at a loss for words after that. It was so much to take in.
He sighed. “Just be careful with her.”
I nodded immediately, the absolute last thing I wanted to do was hurt Rosalie.
Edward was just about to leave, “Do you…love…her, Edward?”
“No, Emmett. I don’t প্রণয় Rosalie like that.” He answered. “But she is like my little sister.”
I nodded once again and started my way upstairs.
I turned back to Edward on আরো time before reaching the stairs. “Thank you.” I ব্যক্ত and he smiled at me from his piano.

I laid in the small guest room upstairs. My clothes were trashed from the ভালুক attack to the sweat during my transformation and my first hunt. So I was only in my briefs and my white t-shirt that was underneath of my other clothes.
So much had happened today…even though I prayed for sleep to take over me I knew it would never come, so I laid there and simply thought about my new life…
I was a vampire…and nothing would ever change that. As I have ব্যক্ত many times before: I am not mad অথবা upset. I actually thought this was really kind of awesome…I was indestructible, I was huge. I could run faster than ever. I never had to eat অথবা worry about my health ever again. As far as I am concerned my life just got better.

The hardest thing would be that I would never get to talk to my parents অথবা বন্ধু again; I could always keep an eye on them and make sure they were getting along fine but it would never be the same. It would be hard. Never tasting my mother’s delicious meals again অথবা father’s words of wisdom but I honestly didn’t have a choice in the matter. Carlisle told me that I could return প্রথমপাতা in a few weeks, after all the commotion about my disappearance died down, and see my family. From a distance of course. Which would be nice.
Rosalie...Rosalie was…feisty, thoughtful, scared, lost, beautiful, loving, gentle, and sensitive…but most of all: my Angel.
I was so worried about her. I want- no needed to know what happened to her. I needed to help her…make her feel নিরাপদ and protected, so she knew nothing would ever hurt her again.
I kept replaying what Edward said: ‘Though her past is remarkably worse than anything ours was. No one should have to go through what she did…and still is.’ I tried to put together everything that had happened…every conclusion that I could come up with made me feel nauseous and like my dead হৃদয় skipped a beat, even though that was impossible…
