UGH, this irritates me. I'm not clicking on anything unless I know where it goes - no viruses or surprise porn for me, thanks.

It only takes a minute to add a description and a few keywords. A little information goes a long way - it helps your stuff show up in a search, lets users filter using keywords, makes fans more likely to actually check it out (and rate!), and it just looks better. For example, have a look at the difference between the link links and the link links. You can do better, kids.

My computer gets viruses anyways so...

But if also has a program that warns you if the link you're about to follow is dangerous so I usually do.

If it's an interesting title, then it should probably explain where the link goes. If the interesting title actually interests me, I'll check it out. I don't go into the link section much anyway, so if there's something that actually interests me there then yeah I'd check it out

It could lead to something inappropriate-I have always knowned that there are bad people on the Internet, and they can add a link about some inappropriate picture, video or comment-or even something that can scare me. Those people should be banned from using the Internet.

If it has a good title, why not?

^...because you don't know where it's taking you? It could lead to a site riddled with viruses/spyware/other shady stuff that'll screw up your computer. Ravepad, for example, lights up my security program like a Christmas tree, so I avoid it like the plague it is. Clicking on random things with no idea what's on the other side is risky.

As interesting as it may sound or not,I'm sure they're are other ways I can look at the story or what ever it may be of,in time I've really felt and learned that it's better to be safe than sorry, especially when it comes to links.

If the title catches my interest, then yes. A spam link is still going to be a spam link even if the person has bothered adding a description and keywords which would usually then be false.

Depending on exactly what the title says of course (for one thing, it needs to be on topic with the spot it was added to). But I've actually found some pretty cool links this way.

I don't tend to worry too much about viruses, spyware, malware, etc. as my computer's nicely protected but I can see why that would put people off of clicking an external link on Fanpop (although that goes for links that do have a good description too - just because someone has described a link still doesn't mean that's what it leads to). So my first advice is to get antivirus software that you can trust, and my second is to be cautious that people will lie sometimes (like Flickerflame said).

But yeah, for me the title itself is the attention-grabbing part. Helps if people put an informative description and keywords, but sometimes people who don't do that still end up posting good links anyway, so if the title interests me enough I might click on it!

(Even if I'm saying "please don't be malware/viruses/porn" under my breath!)
