I meant in New Moon, when Bella finally "woke up." Angela and Mike were the only ones who really welcomed Bella back.

This was tough but I like Angela too! I just think Hermione was a better friend because she always sticks by Harry with extreme loyalty. Stephanie Meyer should've put more of Angela and Bella's friendship in the book in my opinion.

Hermione was there for Harry when nobody else was there for him. She knew that Harry wouldn't have done the wrong thing, no matter which way the evidence pointed.

Angela let Bella sit back with her when she lost her boyfriend.
Hermione was there for Harry when everyone else though he somehow got past a spell cast by an amazingly strong wizard. Everyone else though he was a cheater and a liar. Hermione is clearly the better friend.

angela was actually one of the twilight characters i liked, but hermione faced death, got tortured by a madwoman,had to erase her parents memory and everything for harry, she clearly proved she is a brilliant friend

Although Angelea was friendly, and wonderful to Bella, I think it's in her personality. Angelea is known to be nice and kind, so I don't think it was much of a surprise that she would welcome Bella.
Hermione did something very big for Harry. Just think about it. It was pretty obvious to everyone else that Harry did put his name. He was an "attention seeking prat" [I don't agree with it] so he would do something like this. There was no other logical explanation. Almost everyone went against Harry, so Hermione was really brave for standing up for him and helping him. If it hadn't been for her loyalty, Harry would've fallen into depression, or died. Just think about it. What if everyone openly hated you, and mocked you for being so self-concieved and an attention-seeker. And also, they called you a lier. Wouldn't it be wonderful to have that one friend that says, "Don't listen to them. I believe you."
