Well tbh i love james, he's one of my favourite characters, but I have to admit, after reading that chapter I'm not surprised that some people arent as fond of him. I also felt really sorry for Snape and he was misunderstood, but I still love James :)

^ Exactly! No offense, but i find it stupid that anyone can hate James just because of what we saw on those memories. Seriously? Like Snape would never fight back either, the hate between him and James was mutual.

well, i have always been a big fan of snape, because he was so smart and until deathly hallows was published, nobody really knew which side he's on. he was very mysterious, and i love him for his unconditional lov for lily. in my opinion, he deserves lily more than james do.

Agreed Cas_Cat_2, they both hated each other. Just because we happened to see just Snape's point of view doesn't mean that James was always the bad guy. I'm sure Snape had done things to him too.
The only reason I chose Snape is because they asked about this SPECIFIC scene.

I've never liked James. After reading about snape's memories I hated him even more.
For me, my pick is obvious.

I felt bad for Snape... but when you look at how he treated Harry, he's still a nasty old git and I really loathe him for that. James was a bit of a git back then sure, but he changed for the better, unlike Snape. So you can't really base how you feel about Snape just on those memories of events that happened YEARS ago.

snape had every right to treat harry the way he does because he is doing everything he could to keep harry alive. even harry thought that his own father was a bastard. i disliked james because he's the one who started the fight when they were in the same compartment in the train. he's a jerk, and what i don't get is why lily even agreed to go out with him.

I like James too but Snape is more interesting as a character. :)

That chapter made me loose a LOT of respect for Lily. James...I always knew her was this jerky guy. The fact that Lily didn't offer forgiveness to Snape for calling her a "mudblood" in the fifth year when his underware was being pulled down, shows to me a lack in her character.

Snape is awesome, and that isnt just because hes a death eater, or can teach me how to make poison.....

Snape was my favourite from the first book, but after DH I fell even harder for him. James on the other hand, I never really cared about.

I hated James after that, I just see him as bully now.

It didn't help James' cause that the kid playing him looked like a little S#!t and the one playing Severus looked so adorable
