End of Chapter 10
"What did it say?" Father asked in surprise.
"It told me that I should have listened, I should have not gone looking for it অথবা them...then it disappeared."
"Disappeared?" A voice called.
"Yes, I think that it went down into the sewers. I think that is where it hides during the day." I said, pretty sure of my findings.
"Then tomorrow we go to the tunnels." Michael ব্যক্ত as he smiled. "We can go when the beasts sleep, that is what I have heard of these demons..they sleep during the day."
"Is that true?" Johnathan asked.
"I am unsure, there are many stories about them and no one knows for sure what is true." My father said. "However, it may be wise to go during the দিন so we can see better."
"Tomorrow then." Steven cried. "We will avenge Aaron's death tomorrow!"
"What time Carlisle?" My father asked, letting me take the lead again.
"After breakfast, we will meet here."
"Tomorrow!" Michael cried, the other men cheering along with him.
I wish now that I could tell myself now what I didn't know then, the truth about ভ্যাম্পায়ার and their habit's..things could have ended differently.
Chapter 11
I had a hard time sleeping that night, my mind replaying the events of the night. The way the beast had been waiting for us, Aaron's battle cry as he charged the monstrosity, the way Aaron's face had looked when it landed inches from my feet, his eyes still open...staring into nothingness. The laugh that echoed down the short alley, mocking me and the others before he disappeared. The laugh was so loud that I almost swore it was right outside my bedroom window, I sat up straight in my bed, my হৃদয় pounding as I listened to the wind howling. I did my best to calm myself, telling myself that I was being silly until the laughter happened again, the sound directly outside my window.
"Sleep well Carlisle." A voice called from outside my window, my entire body ফ্রোজেন where I was. The voice laughed again, my breath coming out in gasps as I tried to calm myself. I held my breath, listening for any sounds outside the window but heard none.
I tried to sleep, but every time I fell asleep I had nightmares...either of someone stalking me, doing their best to hunt me অথবা of Aaron's voice calling to me, asking me to help him...to save him, but no matter how hard I searched for him I couldn't find hi, his scream waking me up each time.
I got up before the sun, my mind racing too fast with thoughts of the fight we might see today and of last night both my dreams and of what had happened. I had breakfast ready when my father emerged from his bedroom, surprised to find me up and already getting things done.
"Why are আপনি up so early? Did আপনি have trouble sleeping?" He asked as he came over and sat down, লোড হচ্ছে his plate with eggs and porridge.
"Yes," I ব্যক্ত as I poured both of us mugs of tea. "Dreams are a powerful thing."
"Yes, they are." He ব্যক্ত as he watched me across the table. "You best be getting ready, the men are going to meet আপনি soon and আপনি have to be prepared for this hunt. Don't forget to ask for God's help."
"Yes father." I ব্যক্ত as I pushed the খাবার around on my plate, my appetite gone because of my nerves.
I cleaned up my plate, putting it in the sink with intentions to clean it later that দিন when I returned. I made my way to my room, finding some clothes that I wouldn't mind getting getting dirty in the sewer system. Once I was dressed I dropped to my knees পরবর্তি to my bed, bowing my head as I prayed to a God that I was now questioning.
'Father, please watch out for everyone. We need your guidance and your assistance, this is going to be difficult...possibly the most difficult thing we've done. Please watch over us, guide us on the correct path, the path that will send these demons back to hell.'
I ব্যক্ত the words, but for some reason my হৃদয় wasn't sure that I was really asking. I did want someone অথবা something to watch out for my friends, I didn't want anything to happen to them...but for some reason I had a feeling that something was going to happen to me...and whatever was going to happen was not going to be good.
"What did it say?" Father asked in surprise.
