The Devil Wants Peace had just finished recording their latest album, their self-titled album. Lenny, their manager, made a tour schedule for them. John, Allen, Peter, and Stan were all excited about their upcoming tour. The পরবর্তি day, they all got ready for their flight to New York, the first stop of their tour. Although John feared heights, he was okay with flying. Usually, someone else would sit দ্বারা the window. Once they arrived in New York, they decided to go to their hotel. John said, "Today has been a long day, and I think it's best to rest for tomorrow." Allen said, "It's especially essential for you. I know আপনি had been sick recently." John said, "It was only a cold, Allen." Stan said, "Yes, but it's clear that you're still feeling some of the effects of it." John coughed into his sleeve. He said, "You're right." Peter asked, "Do আপনি think you'll be able to perform tomorrow?" John said, "I'm sure I will. I haven't been coughing that much. Besides, I've packed plenty of cough drops just in case." The পরবর্তি morning, John, Allen, Peter, and Stan ate breakfast. John was not coughing at all. They later rehearsed. "Jolly good, John!" Peter exclaimed. "Your cough is gone." John said, "I knew it would be." That night, the group gave an astounding performance. After their concert, the group retired to their hotel rooms, eager to conclude their tour the পরবর্তি day.

It was the summer of 2017. This summer was a little sad, but it also had happy points. Early in the summer, I was sitting in my bedroom. I heard the doorbell ring, and I heard my uncle say "I'll get it." I then heard an unfamiliar voice say "Would আপনি be willing to take this puppy? My son doesn't want her. I intended for her to be a gift for his tenth birthday, but he threw her against the wall. He probably broke her leg." My uncle said, "And আপনি didn't take her to the vet?!" The unfamiliar voice said, "No." My uncle said, "You know what, I'll gladly take this কুকুরছানা from you! Now, get off of...

When I started the eleventh grade in August 2016, I was still grieving over Millie. One day, I had a talk with the guidance counselor at my school. I told her, "If I had known Millie was going to die, I would have been আরো patient with her. There were times I হারিয়ে গেছে my temper with her and just lashed out at her." The guidance counselor put her hand on my shoulder. She said, "Autumn, that's not what Millie remembers. In fact, she told me about all the times আপনি and Glenn stood up to bullies for her." I felt better after that talk. I later met Glenn in the hall, and we walked to the lunchroom...

The summer of 2016 started out rather badly. One day, my aunt and uncle and I visited with my paternal grandparents. As we were heading back home, we noticed these two idiots racing each other in their trucks. My uncle tried to avoid them, but there was nowhere he could go to avoid them. They hit the car and drove off without any regard for what they had done. We all got out to see the damage. My aunt said, "It looks pretty bad. I'm glad everyone's all right." She then noticed me staggering. She said, "Autumn, you're hurt." I was taken to the hospital, covered in blood. I had several cuts and...

It was August 2015. My বন্ধু and I started the tenth grade, our সেকেন্ড বছর of high school. The school বছর was mostly good. When Glenn turned seventeen, I came to his birthday party. After the party, he said, "I want to tell আপনি that I প্রণয় you." I said, "I প্রণয় you, too, Glenn." We hugged. Unfortunately, there were some bad points in the year. In the Spring, I হারিয়ে গেছে my first dog, Diesel. I woke up one morning, and all my সারমেয় were at my bedroom door except Diesel. It wasn't like him to go off দ্বারা himself, so I decided to see if he was okay. I found him lying in the living room. He wasn't...

It was the summer of 2015. One day, Glenn came to me in a state of excitement. He said, "I have some really good news!" I said, "Oh, my. What is it, Glenn." He said, "My parents got tickets for them and for me to see Motorhead!" I said, "Glenn, that's wonderful!" He said, "Yeah. It really is." On the দিন he was supposed to leave, he came up to me crying. "Glenn, are আপনি okay?" I asked. "What's wrong?" He said, "My grandfather just died." I hugged my dear friend and said, "I'm so sorry, Glenn." Later, I insisted on flying to Liverpool with him and his parents. His mother asked, "Are আপনি sure...

Pretty soon, it was time to start school again. My বন্ধু and I were starting the ninth grade, our first বছর of high school. Glenn and I were particularly nervous. One day, some bullies surrounded Glenn. The ring leader asked, "What's up with the cheesy accent?" He said, "I'm from Liverpool, England." The ring leader said, "Oh, you're from the town of those insects. That explains your trashy haircut. আপনি should be beaten for that!" I said, "Don't আপনি dare beat my friend! If আপনি want to beat up someone, do it to me." The bullies gathered around me. "Autumn, no!" Glenn cried. I said, "I'd rather...

The summer of 2014 was perhaps one of the most touching summers in the eighteen years of my life. I decided that it was time for me to admit to Glenn that I used to practice self-harm. I said, "Glenn, I think it's time আপনি know the truth about my scars." He asked, "What's the truth?" I said, "Before we met, I was a constant target for bullying." He said, "I know you've been bullied, but I don't think আপনি told me the details." I said, "Well, the bullies would often abuse me verbally and physically. To cope, I would take a pocket knife, and I cut." This made Glenn cry. He said, "I'm so sorry....

The eighth grade was the worst school বছর for me. There were a few good parts, but it was mostly bad. First, I had two people who ব্যক্ত they were my বন্ধু betray my trust. There was one girl I told about having endometriosis. I told her about having treatments that failed, so I finally got a hysterectomy over the summer. I told her out of confidence. One day, I went in the bathroom. I found written on one of the stalls, "Autumn is a slut puppy." To make matters worse, other people knew about it. All I heard that দিন was, "Look! There's the slut puppy!" I fell into Glenn's arms and cried....

The seventh grade had good and bad points. In the beginning of the year, Glenn, Joann, and I were heading to our first class. Suddenly, a boy our age ran into Glenn, and both of them fell to the floor. "Bloody hell!" Glenn exclaimed. "Slow down!" The other boy said, "Oh, I'm so sorry about that." He sounded as if he was out of breath. Glenn suddenly became concerned and asked, "Are আপনি all right?" The other boy said, "I'm trying to get away from them." A group of bullies started coming in our direction. Glenn got up. He asked, "What are we going to do, Autumn?" I said, "I don't know." Joann...

During the summer, we got a new neighbor. He was a horrible man. He was a gun-slinging, bible-thumping individual if I've ever seen one. He once threatened to kill Glenn because of his haircut. I told him, "If আপনি kill Glenn, আপনি better make plans for me to kill you!" He never threatened to kill Glenn after that. I wish I could say that was the worst thing he did. One day, Glenn was visiting with me. I went outside for something, and the nasty neighbor took his shotgun and shot me in the upper thigh. I fell to the ground, and I was in a lot of pain. My aunt and uncle rushed out. My uncle took...

It was January, and the school বছর picked back up. Glenn was still on crutches, but he was doing better. At one point, we saw some bullies picking on the new kid. Glenn said, "Come on. Let's get those bullies away from her." I said, "Good idea! I can't just stand and watch someone get bullied." The poor girl was already in the floor. The bullies were ready to beat her. Glenn ব্যক্ত to the bullies, "Back off! I've got crutches, and I'm not afraid to use them!" The bullies backed away. I helped the girl to her feet. "Are আপনি okay?" I asked. She said, "Yeah. Thanks for standing up for me." I said,...

A few months passed, and Glenn and I were becoming ever closer. One day, we got into an argument. I don't remember why we were arguing. I do remember that I went প্রথমপাতা crying. Later, when I had calmed down, I decided to go over to Glenn's প্রথমপাতা to make up with him. I rang the doorbell, and his mother answered. I said, "I need to talk to Glenn. I want to make up with him." She said, "I'll tell him you're here." A few moments later, she came back and said, "He's gone." I was in shock. "Gone?!" I cried. "What do আপনি mean gone?" She said, "He's not here. He must've run away." I said, "I'll help you...

Some time passed, and Glenn and I were becoming close friends. One day, we had a bad দিন at school. The দিন started out fine, but it ended badly. During the last class of the day, one of my classmates started insulting me. Glenn ব্যক্ত to her, "You're lucky that boys can't hit girls. If they could, you'd be the first one I'd hit." She said, "But girls can hit boys." He said, "Go ahead. Hit me." She punched him in the mouth. I saw a tooth fly across the room. Glenn put his finger where the tooth was supposed to be. He saw some blood and fainted. I was really scared. Up until then, I had never...

It was September 25, 2011. It was a Sunday afternoon. I was outside, soaking up crisp air. Just then, I noticed some people were moving into the house across the street. We were getting new neighbors. I noticed there was a kid about my age at the house. I decided to go over and introduce myself. I calmly walked over to him. I said, "Hi, there. I'm Autumn. It's nice to meet you." He said, "Hi. I'm Glenn. It's nice to meet you, too." I noticed he had an English accent. I said, "Great accent!" He said, "Thank you. I'm from Liverpool, England." I said, "Like the Beatles?!" He said, "Yeah, like...

After weeks of getting bullied, I was beginning to lose hope. I really needed a way to cope with my sadness. I looked at my Siberian Husky, Diesel, and said, "I wish আপনি could talk. আপনি could tell me what to do." He could make noises that sounded like he was talking, but he couldn't talk like a person. One day, I saw a pocket knife, and I don't know what I was thinking, but I made some cuts on my leg. It really hurt, but the pain gave me something to focus on other than how lonely I was. It made me forget about all the bullying....for a brief period. I kept doing it. I later heard a song by...

When I started the sixth grade, things seemed to be going smoothly. At lunch time, a group of kids invited me to sit with them. I thought, I'm going to have new friends. Yay! I told them about growing up in Illinois. They didn't make fun of my accent. They explained that the Midwestern accent is the accent that doesn't offend anyone. That's why most newscasters are Midwestern. I said, "Okay. Cool." One of them asked, "What kind of সঙ্গীত do আপনি listen to?" I told them, and I named a few bands that I liked. Another one of them said, "It's not 1980. Those bands shouldn't be a thing anymore." I...

When I started the fifth grade, I was dreading it. I heard that the fifth grade teacher was really mean. I thought, Is it possible that she could be worse than my fourth grade teacher? I told my aunt about my fears. She said, "Autumn, don't worry, dear. Maybe she's nice. Just give her a chance, okay?" I said, "Okay." On the first দিন of school, the teacher noticed my Beatles t-shirt. She said, "Darling, I প্রণয় আপনি already!" I said, "Okay, then." I had recently gotten glasses, because I had trouble seeing without them, especially from a distance. Some of the kids called me "glasses". She said,...

I thought that fourth grade would be good. I thought that when I switched school districts, I would have বন্ধু for once. Boy, was I wrong! Fourth grade was one of the worst school years for me. My teacher was the meanest, most hateful human being on the planet. She never hurt me physically, but she was very verbally abusive. One day, during a math lesson, I got a প্রশ্ন wrong. She took her ruler, pointed it at me, and said, "Class, at the end of this ruler is an idiot." I felt hurt, but I didn't lose it. "Which end?" I sneered. She said, "You damn bitch! প্রদর্শনী some respect when আপনি talk...

All too soon, I started school. I was actually pretty eager to start. I thought I would make some friends. Instead, I was bullied. When I was five years old, my aunt noticed that I was lonely. She decided to get a কুকুরছানা to keep me company. She found a local breeder selling Siberian Husky puppies. She took me there to meet the puppies. They were all so cute. I couldn't choose one. I never did, because ONE কুকুরছানা chose me. He had rust red and white পশম and piercing blue eyes. The breeder said, "I think he likes you." We took him home, and I named him Diesel, after one of the সারমেয় from the movie,...

I am proud to say that I have a few good friends. They have been so good to me. They see past my scars. Unfortunately, my life wasn't always this good. This is my story. I was born in 1999. When my mother was pregnant with me, she learned that she had cancer. She refused treatment and chose to have me instead. She wanted me to have an opportunity to see the world, to grow and to learn and make friends. When I was born, I turned out to be exceptionally healthy. I was told my mother's last words to my father were "Promise me you'll take care of our little girl." He smiled and said, "I promise."...
