Hello fellow Fanguins, Lemur-lovers, and Otter... Wannabes,
It's me, just wanna share my PoM related thoughts that NOBODY else in the world would care about. Plus আপনি are thinking "What? This isn't an hetero/homo erotic অনুরাগী fiction about cute furry জন্তু জানোয়ার we know in প্রণয় that are PoM? If আপনি are still পাঠ করা this and not offended দ্বারা that paragraph at all, I like you. But geez, so many অনুরাগী fictions guys. I haven't read a single one though.

So anyway I've been thinking about Marlene... And how she's on the প্রদর্শনী for only one reason, The Smurfette Principle. A lot of আপনি are asking, "The the heck is this Oreo bird with ক্যান্ডি চকোলেট ভূট্টা for a mouth talking about?" Well, The Smurfette Principle is "The tendency for works of fiction to have against an ensemble of male characters, in spite of half the human race is female. Unless a প্রদর্শনী is purposefully aimed at a female viewing audience, the main characters will tend to be male." - TV Tropes

Okay, okay maybe she isn't there for only THAT one reason. Maybe they want to put female in the প্রদর্শনী because they have mostly males as main characters.... অথবা how about they wanted another kind, passionate character that isn't Private... অথবা just a প্রণয় interest for Skipper... Just look at the "Skarlene" pictures all over this অনুরাগী page. Marlene is mainly for Skipper. Not Kowalski, Rico, অথবা Private. This is all going দ্বারা my opinion.

I know what your thinking. "There are other main female characters in PoM" That is somewhat right. I know আপনি got Randa, Pinkie, Those বানরজাতীয় প্রাণিবিশেষ females Maurice has night fantasies about, Becky, Stacy, ect. But tell me this; are they really the sole main characters for the PoM series? When I say that I mean do they have all of the character's I listed on the freaking character's তালিকা of the PoM site on Nickelodeon?

But let's get to know Marlene for a bit, what's her origin? She's from Northern California but that's just it. What was exactly her story? She was never loved দ্বারা her mother অথবা something? ( I know a অনুরাগী is going to be like "No Have64! She was ______ on episode ______ She clearly said, Marlene: "________" but I wouldn't expect আপনি to know anything about that. *scoff*"

It would be nice to have official origin episode(s) on the idea but NOPE! They give us প্রণয় interests and আরো shaking furry butts on my TV screen that makes me EXTREMELY uncomfortable as my parents walk দ্বারা the TV and think I'm watching some weird furry pornography on the TV.

But It's not all bad, it could be worse. Eric Darnell and Tom McGrath could have made Marlene a female counterpart of Skipper অথবা whatever -which would be freaking lazy!-. This isn't meant to hate on Marlene অথবা anything it's just, my opinion

SaturdaySurpris I never thought about that! Well, I, for one, won´t complain about PoM mostly being about males since female characters often do nothing more than annoy me with their "I´m better than you guys" thing or the "all we girls ever talk about is girl stuff and boys we like". Marlene is probably one of the only female cartoon characters I know that isn´t trying to compete with boys or does nothing more but diss them. xP I mean, there are times when she would roll her eyes at them or in Haunted Habitat, she did ´take the lead´ down in the sewers, but that doesn´t matter. Since in all the other episodes, she can have a normal conversation with the penguins (as normal as a convo with the PoM guys can get) She´s not all like, "stupid boys don´t know a thing, luckily I´m a girl and can show them how it’s done" Anyway, I don´t really think she´s created for Skipper cuz if they really just made her to be Skipper´s possible GF, then they´d make the two fall in love and date or something. But she is similar to Skipper, I never noticed that until you mentioned it. XP If you have more thoughts about other characters, please post them. I think it´s interesting to read what other people found out about the show that I was too stupid to noticed. XPP

have64 I was not saying she was put into the show as a love interest but she dose have a strong connection with Skipper, stronger than the other males and I agree with you. Female characters that has those "Girls are best" thing tend to get annoying and very childish. Personally, I think that writing is just a flat-out lazy character persona. I'm glad Marlene isn't part of that female cliche. I am thankful for your comment.

    [Three figures সরানো along in the dark. It was nearing sunup so only their outlines could be made out. They neared slowly on their target; Skipper. The medium-sized figure takes out a steel cage big enough for one penguin]
